In all fairness, keep in mind Tolkien is a World War One veteran writing in a semi-medievalist context about a war, so I wouldn't expect there to be many women in the front lines. I wouldn't say there is "not a woman to be found". Other than Galadriel, we also have Goldberry and later on in the story you will see at least two other women doing awesome things (I probably shouldn't tell you who, but if you have seen the films, you can probably guess at least one of them).
I got my sister the same Hobbit edition and the cover is truly stunning!
I’m making my way through Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrel and really enjoying the experience. Love that your having a great time with it the second time around!

Oh those editions 😍 just got myself a set on eBay. Lotr is on my tbr for this year as well. I love the films so much I’m surprised I’ve not got round to it yet!
some advice from a curly hair gal to another- I too used to air dry but I have been 'plopping' my hair for the last year or so (my hair is plopped as I type this lol)! I use a cotton t-shirt and wrap my hair up with some curl cream (I used davines This is a Curl Building Serum) and sit with it for a while (: hope this helps, look up videos of plopping!
