In this Vlog we show the good and the bad, so the idea is to prove that not everyone is a scammer ,and most of the taxis and tuk tuks are friendly and helpful.

Yes, a Tuk Tuk might say 100 Bhat, but on the way to the various sites he will want to stop at a gem shop or a tailor shop as he will get "gas coupons" or such for bringing tourists. Even if you tell him you are not interested, he will insist. I had that happen and was so disgusted I left the Tuk Tuk, not knowing where I was. But it worked out as I learned how to use the river bus and after a 20-minute walk from where the driver made sure I got off, I was back at my hotel. So, to see if it is a scam or not you need to take the actual trip, not just take his word that he is "only" going to charge 100 Bhat and is not taking advantage of tourists.

Thats exactly what happend to me with a taxi driver who became my friend. He explained that he’ll just take me there and he’ll get a gas coupon even if I dont buy so I agreed and we went to a few places, I spent a few minutes at each place and walked out without buying anything then I offered to buy him lunch lol. Fun experience 😁

If you turn left on 4:44 there is after 50m a tiny coffee shop on the right hand side, very very good, take a TukTuk is a bit a game😅, newbie’s will pay more I guess 😂 but it’s Thailand 🇹🇭, so enjoy your holiday, nice informative vlog, stay safe😊🙏🏼🇹🇭

The 100 baht tuk tuk was the biggest scammer,watch out!!!
May be he has friends or brother in law with a tailor shop or something else:))

Well, it is a scam however only if you don't purchase anything along his scam route, you could get away with a 100 baht ride but highly doubt he would keep that price at the end if nothing was purchased along the way
I am Thai if I take Tuk Tuk the price start from 100 THB but I prefer to take Taxi and ask them to press meter.
You make such informative content and yes its real daily life for tourist I love your vlogs highly regarded and watch all your vlogs great stuff

Most of the people there want simply survive and many have family which needs food and more. That’s the truth and explains the prices for rich foreigner. If people pay the money, it’s there own fault 😊😊🙏🇹🇭 ❤Thailand

I guess it also depends on season, I was in a november and not once someone asked more than 150 for a tuk tuk, and yeah usually just said 100 and they usually agreed on 100

Hi , I was offered 40 baht , 20years ago outside hotel by tuk tuk driver to bring us around 1 temple , tailor , jewel shop ( saying you buy something, tou my friend) n when we bought nothing , he drop us off , some where unknown to us n demanded his 40 baht
Biggest scam I fell for the 'fruit drink' seller. It was fruit syrup and ice. The taste left after a few sips. I was fooled by the size.

Even Thai I got scam too. Around 120THB from Tha Phrachan to MRT Sanam Chai(Wat Pho)(around 1KM). But I’m not too concern at that time because I’m hurrying to catch my train at Hua lumphong.

Please let us know if we should go for GRAB taxis instead of Tuk-Tuks and Meter taxis?
Grab / Bolt is definitely better..
Grab is safe. Price is set before the trip. No incentives for the driver to take any other then the fastest route.

You should use Grab which will cost you 10% more than the best price you would be able to haggle in 38 degree heat. IF you can't afford that you should not be visiting Thailand.
Just come to Portugal to see what a scam taxi driver is....;)

It's so easy nowadays to check the distance by Google Map. Say Khao San Rd 2.5 km should not be more than 100 baht, period. But in this extremely hot weather, I can pay 150 baht.
@@petersutherland1985 That's true but at the touristy area, tuk tuk rules. If you don't want to wait, hop on. If you want to wait, hail taxi or use GRAB.

Overcharging tourists....of course Arsen. 99.9% of tuk tuks / taxis do (meter off)...this is an absolute given. But you can barter...a little. 😂 Whatever the outcome, do it with a smile. It aint worth the aggravation for them or you just to save a few baht. 🙏

In Thailand or VN.....before entering a taxi. I'll always mention my intended destination AND I'll ask, "Is the meter working?"
If they respond with a story that the meter is "broken" or a set price. IMHO they are more than likely a scammer. If they respond with "It'll be about x." That's a good sign. BUT, be sure that they'll use the meter. WHY?
Because, when you think about it. How is a tourist suppose to know, "What's a FAIR price"? Paying the meter price is IMHO.....FAIR. It's the "default" position. While working "off meter".....is not FAIR. The driver is trying NOT TO CLAIM PROPER income taxes and/or NOT having the Taxi Company know what's going on. A scammer move.
In Thailand (or VN). I'm quite sure that the KING (or communist Govt, in VN) want's a fair share? So, if the driver is "working off meter". Isn't he/she actually cheating The KING (or Govt)? Oooops......
That all being said....don't forget to TIP the honest ones.

ไม่ต้องไปนั่งมันครับผมคนไทยเองนั่งไปไม่ถึง500เมตรยังโดนไป200บาทปล่อยให้พวกมันอดตายกันไปเลยเดี๋ยวภาครัฐคงเเก้ปัญหาเอง ไม่มีใครร้องเรียนเรื่องนี้เพราะงั้นไม่จำเป็นไม่ต้องไปนั่งก็ได้ เเถวบ้านผมนั่งตุ๊กๆ10กิโลจ่ายเเค่120บาท คนไทยไม่นั่งตุ๊กๆถ้าไม่จำเป็นมันเเพงเดินเอาง่ายกว่าเยอะถ้าใกล้ๆ
