Indeed. There are still many jazz fans and we have a lot of jazz clubs as well as jazz musicians. Chicago where I used to live was wonderful, but compared to it, Japan isn't bad. Especially in this pandemic time, we can still play gigs at clubs, which is fortunate.

Cool tune, did you went to jazz school or it's been by your self that you learned the tradition?

I went to NIU and DePaul, and I learned a lot there, but playing with great musicians in Chicago and learning with masters are the best thing. Also, I have been transcribing great players to learn.
