      Thanks Ben....you deserve it!! The guy I was chatting to was a very friendly fellow and the other members seemed to really enjoy what they were doing. I'm glad he called out to me to take a look... we had a good old chat. :)

    Awesome Mate,
    I'm heading up there in a week or so to do some geology. It's an interesting formation.
    I think the "Metamorphic track is a bit of a tell.
    One thing I noticed, Mango trees ?
    I don't think anyone has ever lived up there, and only we are big enough to transport a mango seed.
    Interesting.
    And how cool would that house just on the other side of that gate, what a place to live.

    • @jelbuilderfilms
      @jelbuilderfilms  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Yeah, the mango tree were interesting. Also, that house is on a closed off road at the back end of Mount View Rd. Not sure if you know this but Mount View Road is a rumoured 'spook hill'.... there's a section there where it goes uphill, you put your car in neutral, and it will roll up the hill. (insert plot thickening music here....)

    should have boon a bronze plaque set in concrete block with a station number on it and a punch mark for the surveyors to centre their theodolite on.I'll bet its still there if you had looked in the certre of the four corners

    One of my radio clubs has gear up there. Not sure exactly where though. Edit: wow! Never thought I’d see them in this video. I recognise Darryl’s voice, which is who you were talking to.

    Ahhh yes keepin it nice and local! Only been up twice (Not enough.), the first time was on the trail that our previous mayor closed after she brought land there. 🙄
    Love the nerding out with the BDARS.

    • @jelbuilderfilms
      @jelbuilderfilms  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I did hear about that mayor buying the land only by word of mouth. I never looked into it more than that. The BDARS fellas were great 😊

    Love your videos, great content. Careful with the drone near radio towers. The radio frequencies will jam drone signals and crash the drone. Thanks for sharing such great local info and content.

    You need to do my Petrie area also....one of those markers up there, were holding up in the 80's as we used to ride horses up there. I remember that one was all bent over back then

      Do you mean Mt Petrie at Belmont? If so, I did a recent video on my channel where I went to that Trig Station.

    Noticed the trig station on a work visit last week, it has blown over into the fence
    Some info about the summit site - the land is privately owned and leased out.
    The larger building is managed (and was likely commissioned and owned by) Simoco Wireless Solutions. It mostly houses commercial customers' equipment and (pretty sure) BDARS repeater. Very similar arrangement to the Simoco site on Coot-Tha.
    The smaller building houses EMS - I don't know who owns or maintains it.

      Ah darn it, I guess I'll have to go up and fix the Trig tower again and take it off the fence. Thanks for letting me know. Appreciate the info on the land and buildings. Always good to hear further info on these places I explore 👍👍

      Yeah, it was a pulley alright.... I thought about keeping it as a memory, but then I thought I've got enough metal junk already back at home.... plus the thing was like 20kgs!
