- JAX Store#7 took over Colorado's LAST Kmart, BigK #7329! This store takes the combined form of JAX Outoor Gear, Farm, and Ranch!
📚 History 📚
Kmart #4329 officially opened in November of 1980. Not quite forty years later in early February of 2020, This Kmart was officially announced to liquidate. In March when sales were up to 70% off, JAX Began plans to move into the Kmart. Loveland's (and Colorado's last) Big Kmart closed for good at 4 PM Mountain Time on April 11th.
Shortly there after by May, JAX had full control of the property and aimed to open by August; open date was in early September, with the official announcement coming on September 15th.
Although technically this is the 11th JAX Location, this JAX is actually is taking over store #7 due to the Lafayette MarketPlace experiment of 2014, with three smaller non-JAX branded stores.

Really glad JAX took over, super thankful they took over versus somewhere that'd demolish the building! Would suck to see the few GREAT memories I had here completely wiped, I'm sure many would agree!
Very cool! JAX wasted no time when they heard Kmart was closing up, they made a stalking horse bid for the building before Kmart even closed!

What a beautiful store! Really love the difference between the old Kmart and the new Jax store. Similar thing happen to one of the old Kmarts in Washington that turned into a Coastal. Keep up the good work!

@@Optopolis yeah, I remember the last time I went to that Kmart was probably 6 or 7 years ago.
Wow! TBH I really wish I went there sooner. After Fort Collins closed I guess the mindset of "everything else is too far" kinda kicked in, didn't go to any other kmart besides mine after fort collins closed. I regret not trying to go to others, including this one!
The super big air vents
Definitely one of the things (although a 'small' big thing) that made Kmart stand out from the crowd!
Jax reminds me of Rural King, TSC, and a Family Farm.

Overall from what I've seen of Rural Kings, I do agree in many aspects for sure! Both brands seem to like to at least keep the facades!
A Kmart near us turned into a U-haul storage unit.I guess that's good they are using it for something.
Same thing came of Casper's last Kmart I filmed last year! For sure just better in general to see it used instead of sit unused!

Originally, yes, they probably didn't know for certainty they'd get the building as soon as they did... bare in mind that was before they had control of the building.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang another UHaul taking a Kmart. I can't hate on uhaul itself, I havent any reason to hate them. What does annoy me is storage places in general taking over all these stores when they already got tons of locations.

Overall it is a fairly small family ran company. In fact, of the nine locations, there are only two outside Colorado: Cheyenne Wyoming and Ames Iowa. It'd kinda be cool to seee em one day expand even farther though!
