Thanks for this really cool 😎 lesson Stu. It's so easy that it's hard. But already getting better. I needed a new lesson for the day. I dig it! Thanks! ~Mary 🦋
I tend to use my thumb on that upstroke. I think the ukulele is very misunderstood. Almost everytime i tell someone i play the ukulele the first thing they do is laugh. The first thing thay comes to mind is Tiny Tim singing Tiptoe Thru the Tulips. Or Don Ho singing Tiny Bubbles.
I hear you Jill, Nickie. I enjoy playing on the "underdog" of stringed instruments, and making lots of music spring forth from it. Tiny Tim...so mis understood! The aarows in Tablature are pointing in the direction of the strings. On some strum diagrams w/o tabs, I have my ups pount up, my downs point down. Opposite with tab...try to imagine the strings themselves...then look at tour hands as you learn the motions. Thanks for hanging with. this lesson Tom :)
Am I mistaken, or is the strumming diagram (eg at 2:11) NOT reflective of what you’re doing. I believe you’re doing the triplet according to the diagram, but then you are following with an upstroke stroke…but the diagram shows a downstroke. Can you clarify? Thanks.
@@UkuleleZen 😉. I’m not very experienced with reading the various diagrams, so I was reluctant to stick my neck and ask an artiste such as yourself…you’re amazing!
Cool idea. However, there is an *error* in your depiction of the strokes. You said it was DUDU, but it shows I guess UDUDDDD. I hope you see my comment.
Hi Nina, Not sure where you're seeing that...perhaps when you add on the rest of teh riff? For the triplet itself it's DUDU. (First three strokes are. the triplet, the last upstroke is the downbeat of the next measure). Thanks for watching and joining in!
@@UkuleleZen Hi, glad you saw my comment. So your up arrow is a D. Ok. DUD is the triplet. So the next stroke is a U. But that's not what you're showing on the tab. You're showing another up arrow (D).
Don’t need to be reminded to smile - these lessons and picking up the Uke is all that’s needed! Thanks Stu.
Awesome! Keeping it playful is what Rasculus Ukulele is all about! Have a blast jamming :)
Thanks Stu for more uke Gold

Hi Stuie!!!
Hey Jill! Thanks for tuning in and making some music together! 😊🙏🎶

Me too. Then I play Aura Lee, or the Alona Waltz. They don’t laugh anymore.
What's wrong with that? Both of those men are famous (obviously) and made a lot of 🤑!!! Let them laugh me to the Bank!!! 😂...🦋

@@UkuleleZen Interesting article Stu. I'm glad I stopped by. 🦋
Thanks for posting this very fun and helpful lesson!! 😃
My pleasure!!
Are the triplet strum arrows pointing in the wrong direction - or is the final strum indicated in the wrong direction?

Whoops -- that's me. APologies....the last stroke IS an upstroke. Thanks for understanding -- I'm going to go fire my editor now ;-) Keep jamming, Stu

I love that uke,❤ which one is that?
A tenor made by Brian Griffin...There's a link in the video description
Trying to get this strum down but my fingernail gets caught on the strings and can't seem to get an even tone. Will keep trying!
