Wolff is great. He is not only vastly knowledgeable of the subject but much better than average in teaching it. I first found out about him just a few months ago from watching Link TV. Richard, if you ever read this, please keep up the good work, find larger audiences as your influence is needed, and if your interested, I could facilitate a speaking event or panel at my university in Oregon. If not, or you never read this comment, thank you anyway for what you've dedicated your life to.
I know that this comment is very old, but if you are up to inviting him to speak at a university, you can always email him at the website "democracy at work", he reads all his emails and responds to as many as he can personally.
Richard is a blue ribbon teacher. I'm so excited by your first lecture.and will continue trying to spread the word around. I took a course in Marxism by the token Marxist prof at UC Berkeley in the early 60;s, Lichtman. I am a red diaper baby and have always considered myself a "lonely" Marxist with too superficial of an understanding to feel comfortable supporting my point of view. You are a god send. I applaud your willingness to be as public as you are and to debate other public intellectuals (of the same stature) is very moving to me. There are so few of you. And, your teaching skills far surpass any ofthem You deserve an A+++. Thanks, Elena
Wow! What an energetic economist. A great personality. All scholars ought to join forces with him, to dispell the clouds of ignorance from this planet once and for all. His videos are one better than the other. Thank you!
I really enjoy Richard's presentations. He is a passionately enthusiastic speaker. A refreshing voice of reason. However realize that not all of our predicaments can be explained entirely using historical and purely socio-economic reasoning. Recognize and respect the limits imposed by the availability (or in many cases lack thereof) of natural resources (energy, water, food).
@Jamie Walkerdine - 7 years later. Thanks for responding. :) .. The problem with the pesky ball earth theory is that it imposes limits. Something's gotta give. There's literally no room for unlimited growth on a finite planet. Yeast and petri dishes come to mind. If we ignore this constraint and argue within the confines of this assumption, I suppose it really is a problem of distribution.
What factor do all theorists leave out? TIME. Think about life on earth 5,000 years from now. Humanity MAY have solved all our problems by then and COULD be living in some kind of REAL utopia.
Marxism wasn´t economics, but it included economics. Richard Wolf is one of the world´s leading economists. One that would gladly help the vast majority of people not just a small minority.
Marx's approach was totally scientific. What's "pie in the sky" is telling people that if we keep letting wealth concentrate in the hands of a small elite, it will eventually start trickling down to the rest of us.

He has a regular program on KPFA.org so you could go to their website and listen from the archives.

I'm quite impressed with his style too. I know much of this and I'm still quite engaged.

nice but the audio makes it really hard to understand
now, that is public service !
The noise must be reduced
Watched part I. Moving now to part II. Prof Wolff RULES!
Just a quick question: why does he teach in a basement?
+Winston Smith in Oceania maybe its a metaphor for the underground movement :)
So the CIA can't find him ;)
I'm reminded of the important work that the economists Murphy and Ackroyd did studying the price fluctuations of frozen concentrated orange juice.
Dave L. Interesting..
Where’s the subtitles?
big thanks

Pie in the sky economics.
Literally no basis for that accusation. Get lost, illiterate troll.
Gregory Van Der Mewve, how so?
Alejandro Duarte Marxism is not economics.
