@@christopherkalogeris7906 fucking unreal mate, imagine playing the drums for Baptists for an hour and then Sumac for another. Absolute sweethearts too all hung out in the crowd the whole time they weren't on
Yeah I got sick of that around 05 along with a bunch of other's I imagine ehhh and they usually went with over chubby gain riffs with no notation all sounding same .
I always presumed he'd continue in Jazz. It seemed he had mastered a bag-full of beats EACH for every single sub-genre of Jazz by about grade 9. But if you can make a go of whatever you find the most fun, then, well, ROCK ON!
dead crowd? you believe that life is just about the body? maaaaan....! i`m a big fan of `extreme` metal/hardcore music since the late 1980s, and on hundreds of those concerts i always was fukking sucked by a crowd which hampered my attention to the stage with doing sports like crowdsurfing, stagediving, moshpits or knocking me down to the floor. i`m interested in music and its performance and believe me - i`ve been everything but `dead` without doing sports (although i`m moving too of course!) while enjoying a hardcore/metal show. in this sence every visitor of a classical concert would be kinda zombie. nonsense. btw - an agreement: incredible drummer indeed! cheeeerz!!!
dang, i watch this probably 4 times a week for inspiration and i have one thing to say..... That crowd is clueless to the shredding going on in front of them, and their behavior is ungrateful
5 years later and I still come back to this video and just allow my jaw to slowly descend to the floor. Thank you, SUMAC. Please continue.
A moment of silence for any drummer who had to go on after this guy..
The time I saw him the drummer who went on after him was also him and I'd say it was still a tough act to follow
@@pietzsche hahaha so sick!

some scream,some growl,some sing...but aaron fucking roars.
This guy is a breath of fresh air for metal drumming. I'm sick of this blast beat double bass drumming that has no groove or feel at all.

@classicpcgaming4194 do you and Nick go way back?
This was amazing. He does so much with so little. It's humbling to watch him play.
That quite possibly was the best set of live drumming ever done. The bit at the end of "The Deal" is mind boggling..
those off-beat snare hits at 39:10 are out of this world, i've never heard a pattern like his before.
Nick is a god on the drums, as are Brian and Aaron on their part. Love these guys!
Incredible drummer, so creative. Dead crowd.

@@markuselipka i count 4 people even nodding their head to the music. dead crowd.
Unfair. The crowd are just mere humans.
if you want to mosh then the go elsewhere. if you want to stand hypnotized while getting heart palpitations then these folk deliver.
they probs just couldnt believe what theyre witnessing
Aging like fine wine. It’s crazy to see the madness their music has evolved into absolutely mesmerizing
40:37 till end. NICK!
Holy fuck,Nick is an absolute monster.
Can't wait for the drum video of Image of Control to come out.
Nick is a fucking beast.
The cymbal falling at 9:48 haha
I bought a double kick pedal because of this guy... Awesome drummer!.
Inspirational style! love this shit, listening to how Nick approaches a song has changed my playing massively.
Mesmerizing!!!
the best drummer in this god damn world
Not only am I amaze at Nick's drumming, but the man's arm length is crazy long.
Great Grooves... Heavy and aggressive but slick. Solid work.
THANK YOU. SO. MUCH.
The audience was not ready
Nick 🤘 rips drummer respect!.. Hang Down Rips...
saw this band last night fukin incredible as to be expected hearing it live and loud is the way.
When your fuckin slamming with your boys and the crowd just stares motionless the whole time
I love how this guy can kill it with a 4 piece kit.
So Primitive and So Futuristic Vision of drumming
AAAAAARRRROOONNNNN!!!

10:00 that crash just brunted-where is the stage hand?!Slab-bitch!
I don't know how you noticed that. Good eye. Maybe you should be a stage hand!!
Been there,done that my man.
Transcendent Metal.
He hits the cymbals like they owe him money
It seems to me that this guy might be a musician and the drummer at the same time :)

95% of them are there for whoever's band has the drums set up behind nick. thats how it goes for opening bands unfortunately ...
I was there and yup
where is this?
Is that a 14" snare?
sounds a little bit like dark castle
Supergroups suck. With exception for SUMAC, OldManGloom, Tomahawk, Shrinebuilder, Russian Circles, Mamiffer...
