i've heard many, many people from england speak, and i'll be damned if i can figure out how jay came up with that impression (always ending with "i did i do") he does. it isn't funny or accurate.
Because it's ridiculous and funny. But it is more based on the Oliver twist-ish vernacular that we as Americans kind of heard growing up and making fun of. Also, it is funny. Lighten up.
