Thanks for making this - I had had several theories as to how they knew how many seats were free! The CCTV 'thinking a bag is a person' isn't a flaw though as it simply detects how many seats are free - not how many people are upstairs.
I remember seeing these monitors on the 141 when going to school. As mentioned in the vid it would’ve been cool if they added LEDs to the stairs instead 😂 Also it would’ve been better if the monitor just showed the seat number instead of showing the CCTV slideshow too, kinda defeats the purpose of the monitor. It’s a shame this feature didn’t make it to other buses, it was quite useful!
Would only work as a permanent display - not, as in the video, waiting for a few seconds for it to appear. No practical or efficient. And anyway why does it need to show back to passengers that they are being filmed?
AbstractMan23 improved if there is a fixed video of the top deck, while removing the TFL twitter watermark. Replacing the watermark with numbers of seats would make it a huge chang
I like those displays. Wish more London buses have them. They are on the LT63 UJ* series and LT63 UHR registered buses that were on the 59 route but are now on the 319.
Another more expensive yet interesting thing is to use pressure pads in seats for this. Who thinks it will work? Oh hold on there isn’t going to be any replies anyway
one step further - in the travel planner app - or tfl app - something which shows londoners and tourists the routes to go. To avoid route planning on full busses - or at least warn that it could be completely full...
141 is a HV? And very new deckerate and this should have green lights in the stairs. This is a good route. Sometimes it a Streetdeck, Gemini 3 and Enviro400 often.
***** Singapore had this technology for about a decade starting with the newest Volvo Olympians along with the Volvo Super Olympian.Unlike this one,the sensor is installed along the staircase instead of using CCTV Technology. Anyways,It has the same function
Need this where I live. Double decker busses that are always full upstairs and you have to make the awkward walk down.
J Hughes i see you in way to many videos

Good to know the CCTV will respect the fact that my bag likes to have a seat too.

Excellent, informational, leading the way Geoff.
It would be funny if there was a fat person in which bus would indicate that he took 2 seats hahaha
=O
hahaa:D
Comedian of the year we have here.
Actually I suspect this is a major reason this technology might not go ahead. Bus companies do seem to take a lot of notice of complaints.
@@hairyairey gypsy'
This is a three year old video, yet the technology is not rolled out to all busses. What a shame.
This is a two year old comment and still nothing
I guess it didn’t pass the trial phase

More videos on the bus!!! I like those
If someone occupies a aisle seat they might make a fuss about letting a passenger into the window seat.
I wish they had that technology in the North West of England
Matty 2002 They might eventually!
As if this kind of public funding goes outside of London.
Maybe in 50 years
The display should be on window beside the door(s) so the passenger can see before getting on the bus.

9 years ago, and now it only uses HV’s (G2 B5LH) HV’s (G3 MK1) HV’s (G3 B5LH)
@@ROTREV good for you and I know!
How about putting this on the Next Bus apps for both floors? :)
Why not London use slightly longer double decker like 11.2m and have a capacity of 105 including standees?
La Eme 285 or a 281 during school time
This would be so useful especially if you have a bag or something
I thought it was on 59?
Really???? I can imagine the abuse one would get if you stood looking at the screen for more than 2 seconds.
Beautiful and advance London buses. .kailan kaya ang Philippines magkakaroon ng bus na ganyan?
Hong Kong buses needs this technology.
in the year 1999 they should have cctv on the buses
How long is the trial?
What is the reg of the bus with this tech?
LJ62 BDF
BlackpoolTransport Roblox Okay, thanks. I just felt confused because the reg for the bus at the end is LJI3 CCV. =P
The_PYTHON_Factor The bus at the end is the bus we were on with the system, thus that registration number IS correct!
Thank you!

Anyways,It has the same function
Bib Brother is watching you
All a step in the right direction I suppose
i guess
Essex Pikey I Dk t see this bus anymore...
Good idea
can I use this video for a group project for university?
I see this no where now!
DW 507 Remember that
Why can't London just use Hong Kong buses tri ax
Chinese central television
Closed Circuit Television
What buses have this
+Jonathan Pang this was filmed on a 141 bus, Jonathan!
Is this still in the trial phase or has it been expanded? Or is there still only this on bus with the indicator?
+Londonist Ltd lol
Kai Michael Poppe I used to see it a year ago when going to school but it disappeared now...
