Very well explained. I have 2 questions. 1-Is valve overlap neccesary or can we get rid of it, because I think valve overlap is not appreciated as we have to compromise on engine performance? 2-After installing camshaft, when the marks on stock camshaft pulley are aligned, does it means that Inlet Valve is already set to open 10 degrees before TDC or we have to adjust it manually, somehow??

you took EVC 20deg and when u r explaining valve overlap u took 40deg how
why should a mech engineer have to learn about valve timing diagram? because it comes under automobile engineering.
