so wow ferrari win 1 race. this isnt something to be glad about. it shows the budget cap isnt working. every team knew since race 3 they are fucked and their season was down the gutter because red buull was miles ahead. and since they cant develop anymore because that would cost to much. everybody is happy with a ferrari winning 1 race.(carlos drove very smart and deserves the win) but was it really a race. maybe for 2 laps when the top 4 was close.but with 68 laps of management this wasnt a race

To be fair,the fact that Verstappen qualified poorly,had terrible SC timing and a VSC just two laps after he pitted,falling to 15th and still finishing 5th right on top of Leclerc is very impressive.

We have to mention Sainz's incredible race IQ. He was not impressed by Norris' pace in that final stint and knew Russell was coming with fresh rubber, so he asked his engineers to give him the delta time with Lando, not with Russell, in order to give him DRS and make if much more difficult for Russell to pass. Sainz won this race because he was able to create a DRS train, that's what I call a master move

Agree, I looked at the gap between Verstappen and Leclerc, and just dismissed it out of hand. He could never catch him during this 'off' weekend, but he did and almost beat him. We didn't see much of it, but those laps must have been mega.
Why are people surprised? Ferrari is quite litalerally one of the worst teams with tire degradation whereas RB is the best team in that department, even the drivers said said ferrari had 1-2 secs more in them
That was due to the reversed strategy. Max is pretty good at saving his tires but he was literally nowhere when the other teams switched to hard as well during SC. When Max switched to medium all the lead cars had tires that were the same age as when they left Max standing and with the cars now lighter he could seriously jump forward. Should Max have been able to match his stop with the VSC (that occurred two laps later) he might very well have ended on the podium.
I was seceretly hoping Redbull would win all races, just for what an incredible achievement that would have been. And yes, I know that would have been boring, which is exactly what Singapore wasn't. The 10 wins in a row for Max are incredible anyway.

Seeing Russell crash at the end was a cherry on top of a great race. Carlos gets a huge ton of respect helping Norris get 2nd. The only downer was having to watch two great guys take the podium with antisocial Lewis Hamilton.

I am a max fan. have been since he was in the toro rosso, however even I can enjoy a fantastic race without the RB at the top of the field. max got his record, he basically has the championship locked up at this point. even if they have a mediocre last quarter of the season I'd say its been a pretty successful year for MV33. lets just hope the rest of the races are bangers
Worth mentioning Perez's driving standards today were rather bad. He ran into the side of Yuki which cuased him to retire and sent a massive dive on Albon which punted him nearly into the wall and cost Albon the possibility of a point or two.
Man you missed Perez fucking up Albon and Verstappen somehow finishing 0.2 seconds behind Chuck. Could've made a meme about the first 75% of the race too.

well nice theory with this technical directive and red bull but it makes no sense especially when you look that Max was proper quick at the end of the race - was chasing leclerc by 3 sec a lap, he would got him should this race was literally a few corners longer all the way at the start of the season 3 races were mentioned as those which were particularly not suitable for Red Bull car design - Baku, Monaco and Singapore. flexi wings allow you to drop some drag on straights and by this go faster Red Bull problem was clearly lack of grip in slow corners, not top speeds So i wouldn't be at all surprised to see business at usual, in Suzuka next week

Surprised you didn't mention Carlos's masterplan of intentionally giving Norris DRS just to make it more difficult for the Mercedes to overtake. Side note: I might be a MV fan, but I would have been genuinely surprised if he or Red Bull had somehow managed to win _every_ race this season. I think it will take a few races to see if the pace was just the RBs not being suited for Singapore or if it actually did have something to do with the flexi-wings.

I don't think RB got caught off guard... they shifted their development to next year and were not willing to bring track specific upgrade which only bebefit in one race in the remaining season
Red bull have said from the beginning this track is where they will suffer, they said the sim work was terrible for this track but great for Suzuka so you should probably wait for that race before they rabbit and hair analogy.
Only issue I have with the vid honestly is you saying the FIA has any sort of favoritism towards Max and blatantly skip over the fact that #blessed was not investigated for overtaking Norris and Russel with obvious cornercutting. However Norris thought otherwise and complained to his race engineer who brought it up with the stewards. When the FIA announced they would investigate the Norris overtake Mercedes decided not to cause any more problems and told Hamilton to give the place back to Norris.
This Comedy Review (and of course Will himself) confirms that not even Lionel Messi himself can beat the excitement of this race. We have the first non-Red Bull winner, folks!

I'm no Verstappen fan, but the ban on flexible wings mid season seems kinda motivated by something else than the rulebook. It's rather impressive that he still managed to overtake Leclerc and more importantly he didn't pull any tryhard nonsense ruining other's races expecting to get away with it "because champion". But back to the good stuff: What Sainz and Norris did was one of the most memorable positive moments in recent F1 history and it's kinda funny how Sainz and Norris as non Teammates on a Track not focused on it pulled off something that multiple teams tried in Monza and other tracks for decades and usually failed it even for a quali lap.
If we just ignore the first 20ish laps, the race "without Max," was awesome. Honestly, we haven't had a nailbiter this good outside of qualifying since the season started. Everyone seemed to just turn it up to 11. Huge congrats to not only Carlos for out Ferarri-ing his own team with his own strategy, but to Liam "I need a drive" Lawson. I'm ready to sacrifice Yuki, Daniel, or Logan for his seat in '24. I really hope he at least gets the one more race in Japan because that's practically his home circuit.

Sorry but it was fun in the last couple of laps for sure, but the beginning was an absolute snorefest with nobody doing anything. Best last 10 laps of the seaon maybe, but full gp absolutely not.
As a max fan the smugness levels were a bit much in this vid haha, but keep up the good work mate the Indy and F1 stuff is always fun to watch, and hopefully next year the pack is a bit closer to the RBs so more people can find these gems 👍

Seeing Russell crash at the end was a cherry on top of a great race. Carlos gets a huge ton of respect helping Norris get 2nd. The only downer was having to watch two great guys take the podium with antisocial Lewis Hamilton.

Also, the dudeabides, Sainz did not help Norris out of the kindness of his own hearth, it was to protect his own position. If Merc got past Norris, they would be pressing Sainz and probably win.
That being said, Sainz even gave Norris DRS in the last lap, while he could have pulled away and sacrifice Norris. Amazing race from both Sainz and Norris!

I am a max fan. have been since he was in the toro rosso, however even I can enjoy a fantastic race without the RB at the top of the field. max got his record, he basically has the championship locked up at this point. even if they have a mediocre last quarter of the season I'd say its been a pretty successful year for MV33. lets just hope the rest of the races are bangers
Worth mentioning Perez's driving standards today were rather bad.
He ran into the side of Yuki which cuased him to retire and sent a massive dive on Albon which punted him nearly into the wall and cost Albon the possibility of a point or two.

RB wasn't slow due to the wings btw. It was due to a higher height setup due to the bumpy asphalt, causing the RB to loose grip

especially when you look that Max was proper quick at the end of the race - was chasing leclerc by 3 sec a lap, he would got him should this race was literally a few corners longer
all the way at the start of the season 3 races were mentioned as those which were particularly not suitable for Red Bull car design - Baku, Monaco and Singapore.
flexi wings allow you to drop some drag on straights and by this go faster
Red Bull problem was clearly lack of grip in slow corners, not top speeds
So i wouldn't be at all surprised to see business at usual, in Suzuka next week

Red bull have said from the beginning this track is where they will suffer, they said the sim work was terrible for this track but great for Suzuka so you should probably wait for that race before they rabbit and hair analogy.
Only issue I have with the vid honestly is you saying the FIA has any sort of favoritism towards Max and blatantly skip over the fact that #blessed was not investigated for overtaking Norris and Russel with obvious cornercutting.
I do need to know though, which tortoise was Max gloating against exactly? Because I don't remember him him doing any obvious gloating apart from being rightfully proud of what he's achieved.

However Norris thought otherwise and complained to his race engineer who brought it up with the stewards. When the FIA announced they would investigate the Norris overtake Mercedes decided not to cause any more problems and told Hamilton to give the place back to Norris.
This Comedy Review (and of course Will himself) confirms that not even Lionel Messi himself can beat the excitement of this race.

I'm no Verstappen fan, but the ban on flexible wings mid season seems kinda motivated by something else than the rulebook. It's rather impressive that he still managed to overtake Leclerc and more importantly he didn't pull any tryhard nonsense ruining other's races expecting to get away with it "because champion".
But back to the good stuff: What Sainz and Norris did was one of the most memorable positive moments in recent F1 history and it's kinda funny how Sainz and Norris as non Teammates on a Track not focused on it pulled off something that multiple teams tried in Monza and other tracks for decades and usually failed it even for a quali lap.
If we just ignore the first 20ish laps, the race "without Max," was awesome. Honestly, we haven't had a nailbiter this good outside of qualifying since the season started. Everyone seemed to just turn it up to 11. Huge congrats to not only Carlos for out Ferarri-ing his own team with his own strategy, but to Liam "I need a drive" Lawson. I'm ready to sacrifice Yuki, Daniel, or Logan for his seat in '24. I really hope he at least gets the one more race in Japan because that's practically his home circuit.

The scary bit is that those huge lizards might well be able to take a chunk out of a racer's tyre right before they died (which, reports say, one of the two did -- no word on whether it munched a wheel in the process). Monitors feel exactly like a throwback to the dinosaur days. We're talking a 2-meter, almost 20-kilo animal. They are quite capable of removing fingers and breaking arms if you let them get too close.
Two times slam dunk impeding calls, if it would have been say Ocon doing this, he would have started back of the grid +1 lap. But I guess golden boy gets away with everything...

Will, the flexi wings had no impact on that race. You will watch Max dominate at Japan. The reason the car was so slow at Singapore is because they had to run the car stupidly high compared to where they want to run it.
