You might be referring to "experts" but not real experts.
Read up on how much damage the chemicals on your hands can do. Not much of an investment if the value deteriorates after the "expert" handles an item without gloves.

@@thegreatiam8600 An example would old katanas rusting on the spots where you touched the blade due to the chemicals & enzymes on your hands. The same can apply to some types of paper and leathers. While it may not happen on the show unprotected handling can have harsh effects on antiques over time.

Okay, Maybe I'm a bit crazy. But the song in the background at 8:51 sounded really familiar.
So I went searching and I think it's pretty extremely similar to a song in Command & Conquer, Red Alert 3's soundtrack. Specifically 'Floating Monstrosity.' The chorus in the background of the C&C song is louder, but it could be because it's really tuned down in this episode.
It could be totally unrelated, but it threw me for a loop and I wonder if others noticed. Most people just make memes about the absolute scalping of prices that occur on the show.
(Quick Edit) I just timed the ost so that it synced with the episode and it is pretty exact. Especially if you turn up the episode's volume and turn down the ost so that it's about the same.

I love how this guy shows up and sells these antique bibles and books for $100,000s but wears the same Khol's 2 for $10 shirts I buy
its called advertising. He doesn't buy and sell these things, he is one of the "guests" on the show that is showing off his collection, getting his face and name out there. Many of the people are hired to do the show, doing educational segments, showing off cool items for entertainment. it's a reality show. He never sold those books to the pawn shop, they just did the episode, he got paid to be on the show, and he took his expensive collectable books back home with him.
