As a Reds fan, I'm bummed that they couldn't find a spot for Joey somewhere, like coaching, player development, etc., but I'm glad he got another chance, especially so close to his home.

If Mr. Votto doesn't get signed with a team, he should most definitely try calling games behind the booth. I could hear him narrate games as a sports commentator for sure. He's smart, funny, knows the game, and his words are clear and crisp.

He went into the box in 2022 for a while and was VERY good.

One of my favorite Reds of all time. If he's not going to be in a Reds uniform, then I'm glad it's going to be the Bluejays, his home team. Joey I hope you have a phenominal year with Toronto

Welcome back to Toronto and Canada, Mr. Votto.
I sincerely wish you all the best of luck in showcasing all that you have to offer. And... to be completely honest... I hope you make the team for a million reasons.
This is a bit of a redemption story opportunity on some level. I and millions of others have already accepted your kind and thoughtful and sincere apology regarding those old statements you made about Baseball Canada and Canada itself. Those were all made from a place of pain and jealousy. I get that. Many of us do.
Now come home and show us what you got!

I am a huge fan. HOF based on his OBP-related stats. He alone defined reaching base in the 2010s. No one did it better in his day.

Big Reds fan. Big Joey fan. I feel Joey deserved better from the Reds front office. Because they are just rumors, I would like to know if the Reds did offer Joey a lower contract with less playing time.

Sad that the Reds did not bring Joey V back for at least one more season. Especially since they seem to be on the precipice of being a division winner or at the very least a wild card team. He should definitely be a Hall of Famer with a future in the game as a coach, manager, or perhaps in the broadcast booth as an analyst and/or commentator.
Great analogy between Hall of Fame induction and love. 'When you know, you know.' 😆

He said he has zero interest in coaching or managing. He might be willing to try working in radio/TV. He should.

Reds should bring in Votto on a league-minimum deal, easy money. The people want it
