Really have to disagree about Darnold, the eye test for me was that he bailed us out a bunch and got sacked by free rushers, he had one drive where Bad Sam showed up but other than that he was a hero of the game
Moreau actually didn’t play super bad. He was pretty sticky in coverage. He did give up the TD to Harrison, but that was a really good throw to beat pretty good coverage. The first PI call against him was soft, the second he deserved.
I get the reasoning, but saying Darnold isn’t going to be back so definitively is a little bullish to me, and for some of the reasons you mentioned, ironically. If KOC is what’s making Darnold better, and all the free agent options are trash, what makes you think he doesn’t take a smaller pay raise to stay here? We also have no idea what McCarthy is or if he will even be healthy enough to play or make it through an entire season. So to say we are just going to definitively move on from Darnold, who’s having a Pro Bowl season, seems a bit ill guided in my opinion. If anything, its 50/50.
