Starting up with flying tigers here in Houston thru liberty on 5/15/23 Been comfortable for to long doing food delivery! I know it’s gonna be hard but seeing you talk about it is making me tie my shoes a little bit harder. We got this family💪🏻
Hey I understand especially the girlfriend part. I am also at Liberty University-Aviation. I totally get it. I work full time as well but I work overnight. It’s all good in the end
Love it! Im thinking of joining the military to get experience, change my life, etc but especially to get the GI bill. Have you looked into Delta's propel school or anything like that to get direct hired by an airline?
Congrats💪🏼, I just started with Liberty this spring 2023, in Summer 05/15 I start flight school. But I started to feel it will be tough when I start the flight school, specially I am working full time. I was told to do it the other way around, finish my certifications, then whenI become CFI, start my bachelors, but its up to me how I feel by summer time, I feel its a lot specially that I am working full time 😖
It sucks. Not gonna lie. I'm taking 4 classes this semester, working full time, and all the FTA stuff. It has gotten better since getting through Ground School at my FTA though. I'd limit flights to 3 per week. Don't stress about keeping pace with everyone who isn't working full time
I'm looking into Aeroguard and Liberty and a few other places around Phoenix for flight training and I plan to apply for VR&E since I've already used 12 months of my Post 9/11. Will the VR&E not cover your PPL? Thanks for the info man, and thank you for your service. Oh, one more question - are you getting BAH with your Post 9/11 or not, since it's an online program? P.S. - subscribed! Good luck with finishing the program man!
@judsonl8990 VRE can pay for your PPL. I've heard it is difficult to get approved for VRE for Pilot route (not saying it can't be done). It makes sense because on one hand (VRE) you are saying you have an employment handicapped, yet your applying for a job that requires a pretty decent bill of health. Yet, people have been approved. You have an up hill battle. Go into meeting with the counselor ready to rebuttal their objections.
@@dustincooper7181 make sure you check out VR&E. If you qualify for that you can get all your flight training paid for and still use your GI bill after. 💸💸💸
Man im having trouble finding any kind of resource that would pay for private pilot cert and its super expensive here in the tristate area. That my only barrier at the moment, hopefully i can work the problem in the near future.
Unfortunately Aeroguard ended there partnership with Liberty this semester. They will grandfather current students but not taking any new ones. I would contact Liberty and ask what the plan is as far as adding another Arizona FTA.
Hey buddy, nice to hear from someone at the same boat. I applied for Liberty to start some classes using TA, also and I know they have a partner in Savannah - GA where I live to fo the flight portion. I’m still in the Army and I want to start now this program to be ready when I leave my contract. But I know I have to pay the ppl from my pocket before apply for this program right? Tks and good luck!!!
The rate for each semester is determined by the certification you are getting that semester. If I were you I would pay out of pocket to get PPL. Then apply and Liberty and see how much you get from FAFSA to use for instrument rating
Trying to use my gi bill through Liberty when I get out later this year. How many online classes are you taking during flight school? Will Liberty let you do just the flight portion first and then go into the online classes once you have your CFI?
This semester I am taking 4 classes, 2 of which are ground school. I think they will let you do that. I might start doing that after this semester. I had 2 general education classes I wanted to get out of the way. The liberty classes aren't bad. Worst part is having to complete to ground schools. One through FTA, one through Liberty.
Hey man looking to follow in your footsteps. I’m a vet myself getting out later this year, I have a bachelors in business already any rough idea if credits transfer? And I know you work full time but any idea what the quickest timeline looks like to complete all your ratings via liberty?
Most of my generals transferred. If you're looking at doing ATP-R you'll have to compete 60 aviation credits with Liberty. They estimate 2.5 years from start to finish. I'd say ~1 to 1.5 years to get ratings.
Great video! I’d like to put the info out there that the GI BILL WILL COVER PPL 100% through a degree program at a public university.
Correct! Actually about to do a video on that. I think that is really good info vets should know
Nice work! Best of luck
Thank you! Cheers!
So grateful I found this channel. I’m thinking of going through Liberty. Great information and keep grinding.
Welcome aboard!

@@Astrokeofluck if you mean no experience from then bottom of the bottom then yes lol
@@JorgeAlxsRod I would recommend getting your PPL outside of Liberty. It will be cheaper and easier.
@@Astrokeofluck well I got no means to pay for it. I’m using fafsa to pay for it
Oh if you're getting fafsa, I guess may as well

Oh man. That is rough. I'm doing gig work now, trying to make ends meet. Beats the stress of a full time job IMO
Hopefully Liberty gets everything resolved soon. I was planning on using them but there still the ongoing suspension 😢
Yup. It's unfortunate. Check out this video. It may clue your in a bit more

Are you sure that you can get a R-ATP without going to a Part 141 pp, program?
Yes. I know some folks, personally who did it this way. As long as it is just your PPL.
Love it! Im thinking of joining the military to get experience, change my life, etc but especially to get the GI bill. Have you looked into Delta's propel school or anything like that to get direct hired by an airline?

VRE Covers your private pilot. They’re covering mine right now.
That's awesome man. Congrats on getting approved for that. I'm going to try and transfer to VRE after my private
How? Because I just finished my initial appointment with my counselor and she said that they didn't pay for the private pilots license
Did you get approved for the training, excluding PPL?
How did you get VRE to cover your PPL ?
Is it possible to use the GI bill just for the flight training and not with a degree? I'll already have a degree and just want the flying.
Ya. You can go the vocational route, but you'll be capped at 15K per year for Post 9/11.
Have you heard any update on Liberty status with the VA?

Hi brother, do you know if you getting the BAH for Virginia or Arizona .
I'm getting a 'online rate'. If you are going to school online, you get a lower online rate. It's bullshit
Congrats. Good luck

@@Astrokeofluckso helpful. Thanks for the tidbit. Definitely worth a shot.
So the gi bill will pay for all of it except the private pilot?
Yes. However, funding on a year to year basis can be tight

Do you have to pay the flight school affiliate separately or does your liberty tuition just what you pay for everything?
@bruhman4737 everything goes to liberty, then they distribute to FTA

Not off the top of my head. I might be able to find some info and get back to you

I looked online and don't see any flight affiliates with Liberty in Arizona? Do they have some that just aren't listed online?

@aStrokeofLuck Bummer! And copy that, thanks for the heads up 🤘🏻
Did you transfer credits into Liberty? How long is your program til complete? I’m in Vail, AZ myself and May do this program. Good luck!
I did. They estimate at approximately 2.5 years. The last year is mostly just getting hours.
Hey man, great content. I'm thinking of going the same route as you. Would you recommend getting the ground school done before starting classes?
I would recommend doing PPL part 61 and not going through Liberty. It will be a lot cheaper and you won't have to do 2 ground schools.
