Perhaps second only to the original performance by Yvonne DeCarlo. And I’ve seen major stars in full versions or in concert. Morrow has the pipes and the persona to pull it off. One scene, one song & out. Bam!
A magnificent performance of a magnificent song! Love you, Karen Morrow! Love Stephen Sondheim, too, for creating a perfect song, lyrically and musically, one of many in his brilliant career.
try her I had a Ball or hostess with the mostest she never ever disapoints and when I met her she was a sheer delight someone should have penned the vehicle to make her supertar she needs to be this cast is as good as origina or papermill eartha s rendition is pretty damn good
There's another clip on youtube of Karen Morrow performing this song that captures the audience's reaction as it was in most performances. This clip is better visually; the other clip is better performance-wise. You'll hear her blow the roof off the theater.
Fantastic performance of the song. Her phrasing and emphatic delivery second to none. Puts me in mind of Dolores Gray's recording, another wonderful unashamed Broadway dame belter number. Her performances on the'' Evening with Jerry Herman'' at the Hollywood Bowl are just great, you can find them on youtube. Why did we never get a ''Karen Morrow sings Broadway''album?
The one and only Karen Morrow captures every nuance and only someone with her talent can sustain the extra slow tempo which should have begun to push forward as the character's life progresses. The tempo needed to pick up the pace of Carlotta's life as she grew older. It did not. Yet the great Karen Morrow creates a great performance unmatched. Miss Morrow is magnificent!
Wow what a voice! Amazing as usual.❤
One of the technically best performances I've ever heard of this song. What a set of pipes!
Amazing - love Karen Morrow.

Hi Steve!💜
@@LEYLANUT Hi Scott! After all these years. Fondest memories of you being a classy guy always kind to everyone. Thanks for saying hello.
You should have seen Morrow as Nancy in "Oliver!" in 1973.
Do tell.
Who's that singing I'm Still Here? She's great.
the heavenly Karen Morrow
Sorry meant emotes
This is a difficult song: way too long, with way too many words (witty but repetitive), and monotonous. It really relies on the singer to sell it.
