Good information, very nice guy to listen to. Very upbeat, I see you needing a bigger loader on some of your project and a farm handyman. See you on the next one.😊
Love your channel Brother. A real perspective of a farm day. Every time I go do something in the farm there are 3 things to deal with before doing the one thing you went out to do.
We used those RV solar panels that go on the dash and plug unto cig lighter and usually worked pretty good at keeping batts up on equip not used for weeks.
Must be NICE!!! ..... T-SHIRT weather in February 2024 . Watch your show👀❤ as often as i can!!! . Here in Toronto on Feb. 13- 2024 it is 36 F. at 12:00 PM . So Long!! 🤠
Solution to dying batteries. Install a disconnect switch on the battery, simply disconnect after use, then reconnect prior to use. This has saved me trouble on a Farmall 140 tractor and a seldom used pickup truck that used to be dead every time I tried to use it. The booster helps as well! But it is not needed as much anymore.
Time for a solar lighting video buddy! Farmer's don't stop at dusk. Especially with a big barn to mount lights on! What about light poles? Get those Duke Energy folks to drop you a couple used poles.
“If you can’t backup then you can’t farm!” Classic but true and most likely backing will be when the farmer hits something he didn’t want to. Take your time folks and back slowly.
Put a trickle solar charge in the window. About 1-2 amps. It will keep a charge on it especially in cold weather . Tracto supply or harbor freight has them themselves
I have a 150 acre farm that I've worked diligently on since 1997. I found out that if I want to quit having problems with carburetors (all small tools and older vehicles) was to do a couple things. I started having 100% gasoline with no ethanol delivered to the farm and put in a tank. I got stabil and put 2x the amount normally called for. Trying to stay cheap and putting in the minimal amount won't keep those carburetors clean. Do that and you'll have a lot less small tasks to do. Batteries are also a big hassle. I tried the trickle chargers but if there's the slightest noncontact, you will come back and the vehicle won't start AND you may have a completely dead and ruined battery. Installing a cut off switch under the hood has been awesome. I can put one on a vehicle to prevent theft, for an extended period of time parked, and especially if at an airport in extended stay. The cold cranking amps will be there when you really need it, like in Minot, ND. Also, I've had this happen twice. If that equipment fails to start after that, regardless how it looks, put in a new heavy duty ground wire, and secure well.
I know you have put rock everywhere already, however, I would suggest putting road fabric down. With that you will not lose rock in the clay. Just a suggest! Looks great on your farm!!!
we don't do fabric around here in most cases...the clay takes up the rock...then when we do a "rip" with the box scrape we pull up the fabric and it makes a huge mess...it's just not used around here
Hey Josh thank you for the video and that tire was rubbing on the warlock dump truck in the front I figured I'd just let you know when you turn the tire woo
When you getting a chance check out aerobic septic system with sprinklers they have very small leach fields and you run the sprinklers to where you want the water to go. Mine one goes in the woods the other into the pastor.
If you use ethanol free gas you will not have calibrator problems every year. I have used it in all my small engines for years with no problems. It cost more. If you can get it use it. It saves in the long run.
22:18- I wouldn't think that adding rock to the end of the Mega Building will do anything much for giving the standing water a direction to flow away from the building. My way of thinking is that it'll just hide the fact that there's standing water there. That's what they fill French drains with (gravel) to give water a place to hide, not leave. Seems to me you need to add a PVC drain or two at that end of the barn (building). Just my $.02... 🙂
See, you learned that if you open the Jaws all the way up you can back drag scrape and level in tight spaces with a 4 in 1 bucket. You will never want to use a conventional bucket again.😉😎
You need to invest in solar battery chargers that plug into your accessories plug and charge your battery stand alone. They are not that expensive and you can get them from anywhere. Just like the ones you would use for charging batteries in the gate or watering stand alone areas where you don’t have electricity.
As a truck driver I backup more in a week then most people do in a year. Also look into solar powered battery tenders definitely cheaper than buying batteries brother
Great work on the vid sir... can i suggest some solar battery chargers for maintaining those battery's nothing less than 30 watts though... stay safe 🏴
Just an idea I would put electric outlets along the back of the mega barn and make that a parking area for farm vehicles. Then get battery tenders for the vehicles not only would you have vehicles that start you would extend the life of your batteries. As far as the seatbelt law goes I would think you wouldn't have to wear it only on private property and always on the road.
the gates will have trees planted beside them at some point...the gate is for driveway security...not keeping the cattle so it's just to block the driveway....much like your front door on your house...you've still got windows someone could break in
The best way to keep your batteries hot for a long time is the trickle charger!! They only put out 1.25 amp charger but that’s all you need for all your batteries !!
6:45 You know what's worse? Cat pooping on the floor where you walk, so you step on it unawares and end up tracking it all round the house before you finally smell it and go 'what the hell is that smell?' and look down to see it all over your boots!
If water pools and runs under the building, how will stone solve the problem? Doesn't the grade have to be corrected first (with clay) so water can't pool?
I'm not sure about the seat belt farm rule, but I would remove the current name/lettering on that truck. This way if you get pulled over, they don't think it's a landscaping truck anymore. Out on the road, I would just wear it anyhow. Lot of crazy drivers out there, it may save your life, especially a truck with airbags.
Most of my vehicles / machines have a Battery Cut Off switch. Some have Solar trickle chargers. Eventually, they will ALL have switches and chargers. $$$ savings.
I agree...but I grew up in the generation where seatbelts weren't required by law...I guess it's a matter of personal choice when it comes to working around the farm...you're right...anything could happen!
About 7 years ago at the old place I lived, the electric company came in and was replacing the old meters with the new electric meters and the guy down the road chased the electric company guy out of his yard with a shotgun shooting and a tooting. Needless to say I don't think he's a free man anymore lol
Electric motors may be simpler and longer lasting….but batteries aren’t. People like gas because it’s reliable and gets the job done. I have an electric leaf blower and the batteries suck. I’d rather use gas
I was curious why you don't wean your calves? I see big bull and heifer calves running with their moms. They will defiantly pull their moms down having to nurse them big ol calves and try to grow the one they are carrying. Maybe im missing something in your video but it seems a little odd.
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer sorry josh, what i meant you push the electric tractor then make fun of those who don’t like it. Please present it as a additional tool other than diesel
supervisor shouldn't have to stand over everyone's head....when there's 10 loads of rock right beside your project and you go out in the yard and get dirt....well that's just a simple phone call away or in my mind....total common sense my brother....but hey...made for a fun video...I enjoyed fixing it up

Another lesson on being friendly with your neighbors and how to fix contractor's error's. Thank you Josh.
Yeah lots of work done, a good day. Place is shaping up! One day at a time! WOooo!
That 4 way bucket works awesome for spreading gravel. Good to know if I ever come across a situation that I need one.
We used those RV solar panels that go on the dash and plug unto cig lighter and usually worked pretty good at keeping batts up on equip not used for weeks.
I can relate. I mowed lawns for ten years. Can’t beat mowing in the heat with a turd stuck to the tire.🤢
lol...I know right!!
👍 "Can't Back Up, You can't Farm", Love it, HAHAHA. Give those people a trailer and then have them back up, LMAO.

I'll probably have 20 outside outlets and 5 water hose bibs....Nothing worse than needing an outside outlet or water hose and not having it
Have you seen the new buckets like that one with a Harley rake in the back of them also ? The look like they work great
You need to invest in a simple open pole barn. You need to get that equipment out of the sun and rain!
You missed your opportunity. You need to teach Buddy how to operate the skid loader.
Put the battery maintenance reminder, on your phone.

Not sure on seat belt but in Georgia you didn’t have to have a license to drive farm vehicles. Back in the day I’m sure Law’s has changed now.
You have to have farm use tags to not be buckled down you have them on that truck ?
yep it has farm tags
Man never had issue with bosch batteries, I buy them in Costco in the UK.
Battery disconnect on them farm vehicles might help save your batteries.
Seatbelts are there for a reason. Personal safety. No matter where you are driving, a minor accident could spell doom for the “farm”. Why chance it?

Egts don't really have anything to do with just starting it. Bad fuel/Bad injectors can sky rocket the egts on start up.
Not sure but does not the county own the 10 feet beside the edge of the road on both sides.
Right of way....not ownership...that way we can pay taxes to the center line of the road...rip off isn't it!!!

Just saying what the others will say. No seat belt and I inspected. I say run it, it’s only illegal if you get caught.
