48 Hours in UNOFFICIAL Country | Kosovo - From Backpackers Point of View (2024) | Spin the World
We spent 48 hours in an unofficial country - Kosovo - and we can say that from the backpackers point of view, it's both interesting and challenging. This was our next destination after North Macedonia and it was delighting to return here after 8 years. However, this time we were faced with difficulties that we hadn't experienced or anticipated. Prizren and Prishtina both caught us off guard a bit. If you want to know what exactly was that, jump into the video and see for yourself. Watch, and let us know what you find interesting in Kosovo, and share your thoughts and ideas!
Must-See Prizren
1. Stone Bridge: Open 24/7, free to visit. It’s a public space connecting the city across the Bistrica River.
2. Sinan Pasha Mosque: Generally open daily during prayer times, with free entry, but donations are appreciated. Visitors should dress modestly and respect religious customs.
3. Serbian Cathedral of Our Lady of Ljeviš: The church has limited public access due to ongoing restorations and security measures. It may open occasionally, so check locally for updated information.
4. Crkva Svete Nedelje: Also known as the Church of St. Nicholas, this Serbian Orthodox church doesn`t have fixed hours but is typically accessible when services are held. No entrance fee.
5. Prizren Fortress (Kalaja): Open year-round, and entry is free. The best time to visit is during daylight for panoramic views.
6. Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of St. George: Open during religious services, with no set visiting hours. Entry is usually free, but donations are welcome.
Must-See Pristina
1. Cathedral of Saint Mother Teresa: Open daily from 8 AM to 8 PM, with free entry. The tower offers views of the city for a small fee (around €1-2).
2. National University Library of Kosovo: Generally open during working hours on weekdays (8 AM - 4 PM). Entry is free, but special exhibitions may have fees.
3. Mother Teresa Boulevard: A pedestrian zone open 24/7, with free access.
4. Newborn Monument: Open-air and accessible 24/7, free to visit.
5. Old Green Market (we visited it the first time): Open daily, typically from 7 AM to 5 PM. Free to enter, but the items sold vary in price.
6. The Great Mosque (Çarshi Mosque) (we visited it the first time): Open during prayer times, with free entry, but donations are accepted. Non-Muslims are usually welcome outside of prayer times, respecting modest attire.

@@maskinisten019 Albanians are from azerbaijan.I was working with my truck across the europe and little asia and middle east, about 30 countriesAlbanians looks the same like Azerbaijans,100%the same people.Eastern Turkey and Armenia is "close" to this people.Serbs in the other hand physically looks like the Croats,Bosnians Macedonians,Romanians,Bulgarians.Greeks are in some point similar to Turks, but not much. Conclusion?Albanians are migrants from little asia, because in every way, language (Kos-serbian word for black bird-abbreviation of Kosovo,in albanian language word kos didnt exist)🤨national costumes and customs for example, they dont match with the other nations in region.Thats the facts, but wishes are wishes...

HAHAHAHAHAAH YOU MUST HAVE PASSPORT FROM BELGRADE TO PRISTINA, SO WHAT IS IT??
Yeah, need to cross Serbia first to get back from Kosovo to Serbia... With passport.
I understand that with your only 1500 subs, trying to grow your subscribers, but use better clickbaite methods than calling a country that has been recognized worldwide an unofficial country.
Kosovo is truly an unrecognized country. Kosovo is not a member of the United Nations (UN) because membership requires approval by the UN Security Council and the General Assembly. Countries such as Russia and China, which hold veto power on the Security Council, have blocked Kosovo's membership. So... it's just what it is 😁
If this is not a real country why you visit then. Kosovo is build and have indepedence because of the albanian people who did fight hard against ocupation. Thousand of people had been killed during the war in 1998-1999. Kosovo is not a tourist place it has no sea but has history
Welcome to northern Albania 🇦🇱
I dont mean to be rude to your travels but kosovo is an example of what islam creates , the odd but is albania is not entirely muslim, kosovo is mostly entirely muslim and the relationshio with albania and kosovo is perhaps a fake one in honesty. they are albanians but they are a more islamized albanian group, the other thing is, there is a giant NATO base ran by USA called Camp Bonsteel serving as a tactical geographical position for the usa in kosovo, which is why it is a huge subject of problem with surrounding countries and it also means kosovo is very serup by the usa, not independently, a kindof fascist style government ran by the usa. They are heavily supported by usa to make their country official but they are struggling to do so and in honesty the validity of kosovos existence as autonomous is.... a lie to of sorts to try and attemp to conjoij the land with albania. Why the usa supports it is beyond me, when the islamic parts of the balkans always prove to be the most under developed and poorest sectors exonomically.
Thanks for the info! 👍
