My greatest mistake was not starting.. I am not big but I started...my content is improving and my message is being heard...Now getting 50 views/day and about 5 subscribers/day....I had excuses like I don't have a camera but nevertheless I started with a $30 smartphone & its happening.. TO EVERYONE READING...AT LEAST START TODAY SO THAT NEXT YEAR YOU WONT BE WORRIED ABOUT STARTING .
So good to hear that you started! You definitely don't have to have it all figured out in the beginning. Like Ryan said, "it's a marathon. It is absolutely not a sprint." It's a process of learning, refining, and continuing to create.
Some of my biggest breakthroughs in life have come from paying close attention hate and learning the truth from it. There’s more to hateful feedback than assuming the person had a bad day. There’s lots to learn there if you know how to learn from it.
Good advice. My channel has always been a dumping ground for my projects, but recently I've decided to put a bit more effort into it and see where it leads. Let's see how it goes!
Ryan is an absolute inspiration and is the reason why I decided to go forward and make my films. I'm not expecting glory, recognition, or even money. It's about passion which Ryan and his entire team have demonstrated through all these years. Thanks again brother for your transparency and "keeping it real!"
I am 70+ and started making TH-cam videos 2 years ago. I live in Saigon and wanted to share my experiences here as an expat. I have had a great time doing TH-cam and have learned so much ... you couldn't ask for a better hobby. I have over 2100 subscribers now, but little financial reward. The reward is the friends I've made and the enjoyment I've had working with my wife on these projects. Nice show, and helpful.
So awesome to hear! Our TH-cam Masters series is definitely something that you should continue to check out. Especially our episode with Potato Jet - he covers a really great topic and provides insight on continuing to elevate videos: th-cam.com/video/jOqZs0NFgd0/w-d-xo.html
Do not listen to the haters. Film Riot is such a great channel and I am sure the amount of people who love your work is so much bigger than those who for whatever reason talk bad about it. Thank you for all your work and efford you put into it.
My hope is to help the smaller independent young filmmaker community by giving tips and in depth behind the scenes and I know Ryan said to not do something that others are doing but I do love what I'm doing and hope to help in any way I can
I was saying you shouldn't do it if you are only doing it because others are doing it and it's working for them. If you are passionate about it, absolutely do it.
@@filmriot Thanks for the reply omg that means so much! And yeah I am passionate about what I do and its just discouraging when the views are down and it doesn't seem like anyone is watching but I'm following Ryan's advice to just keep at it!
Ryan has always been an inspiration to me. Him and Andrew Kramer are the people who inspired me to become a filmmaker. I still have a long way to go... But that inspiration.... That's key! Thanks Ryan.... For everything. Thanks Music Bed for this.
A wise man once said "If someone says if you only do TH-cam for views and money you won't succeed, they are just trying to sound smart." - Harris Heller (Alpha gaming on YT) So yeah
Honestly this isn't the best advice. You could make a master piece but if u don't have the followers then no one is gonna see it. If no one knows who u are you won't get views. its extremely difficult to get people to watch your videos. it doesn't matter how good ur video is
It's more than just creating a master piece - it takes a lot of time and a lot of hard work. You should check out the first section where Ryan talks about not doing it for the views or money!
But what is a masterpiece? Is there a definitive thing that everyone can agree with? If so, I've never heard of it. Don't worry about trying to make a viral video because it happens in the most unlikely moments.
Thanks for watching! Which of these tips will you use to start your channel? Let us know in the comments!

I'm where I am now because of ryan and film riot
It's amazing how a video can spark so much inspiration 🙌
So I should skip this video then? LOL 6 subscribers.

@@SkullyReacts I think you missed my point
