I'm reading now for the first time his book and I've discovered that he was arrested for the first time in a prison about 2 miles away from where we live. I passed so many times by but never thought R. Wurbrand has been there the first prisoner of this prison back in 1948 (29th February) What a great man of God

Growing up for a part of my life in communist Romania I know well great people of Christian faith who stood strong in the face of communists and served the Lord, even unto death, but how much more sister and brother Wurmbrand stood to defend Christ in those difficult years after the war, I can't imagine. Richard and Sabina were TRUE church leaders. What they suffered under Communist persecution was unimaginable and they never ceased to forgive and love. I had the privilege of hearing him preach in person in 1995. There was one part of his message that was prophetic; i.e. God spoke directly and specifically to me through one part of it regarding a life directional decision I had to make in my life.
