If you were someone who used the Amazon Fresh store regularly I could imagine going to a normal supermarket and on autopilot just putting items in your bag. I really hope that this idea doesn’t catch on, jobs are scarce enough at the moment.
Yep, I thought of that too! Luckily we don't have the option yet in Dublin (hell, we can hardly get any stuff due to Brexit 🤦♀️) but I can just imagine walking out of Tesco with unpaid shopping in my bag!!! Agree with Grace, I find the whole affair quite soulless & cold!
What if people don't have enough funds on their card/account? Do the doors slam, alarm goes off and lock you in? 😂 Also if you put something back on the shelf, does your basket update? So many questions.
Absolutely, he wants more money and he wants it by not paying staff, and by hoping that this convenience will cause people to grab way more items not thinking about the cost, similar to how people tend to overspend with credit cards.

Will the cameras and app be able to tell the difference between you picking it up and looking at it then putting it back versus putting it in your shopping bag? What if its crowded and there's someone beside you reaching for something nearby is it sensitive enough to differentiate between each person and their bag? Idk. I'm very skeptical and I don't like that it takes away people's job opportunities.
