Deep Rock Galactic's WORST Enemy...

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 30 พ.ย. 2024
- Not only are we facing Deep Rock Galactic's worst enemy, but it also happened to spawn in the absolute worst spot. I think in order to fully appreciate the severity of this situation, I'll have to take you back to the beginning, where we set out to complete what should have been a very simple core hunt.

As a greybeard who is nearing level 500, this is both painful and amusing to watch.
looking back its now amusing but it certainly wasnt at the time
@@DrDevvi here are some tips I have for dealing with Tyrant weeds
1: engineer's platform gun can be used to create platform stacks that provide cover from the weeds. It also can be used to circumvent movement hazards like the green goo in fungus bogs.
2: driller can drill into walls and use C4 to make safe rooms and tunnel networks. This works best by creating a T with the safe rooms being at both ends of the T. Expand the tunnel networks as needed.
3: practice trigger discipline with damaging the core. I noticed you wasted more than a few plasma cutter beams when it back to being invulnerable.
4: pickaxe power attacks do a decent chunk of damage to the tyrant weed core. Helps with ammo conservation.
One last thing: full auto shotgun has some of the worst ammo efficiency in the game. I'd spec it for weak point damage and pellet count rather than DPS. It's meant to be a flexible fodder killer that can still hurt some bigger enemies like praetorians. You can oneshot kill grunts on any difficulty with it so long as you get a clean weak point hit. Let the breach cutter worry about burst DPS.
@@WarCriminal-y1u this is some great advice. i gotta learn to predict when the weed closes so i dont waste so much ammo. and im still searching for a good shotgun build, i dont know if i should build around magnetic pellet alignment for a better all rounder or cycle overload and build it for close up damage
@@DrDevvi magnetic pellet alignment is the best all arounder build imo. You do good damage, can snipe web spitters, mactera ect, and good horde clear as long as you hit your weak point shots
Korlok on a drilldozer mission where Dorretta drives right past the Korlok and then proceeds to stop for a REFUEL is just the worst.
im confident someone was plotting against me and planted it there. no way it chose to grow RIGHT THERE
@@DrDevvi them damn elves.
The weed causes more trouble the longer its alive. I remember one mission where we started it, then couldn't finish it and tried to retreat. It all went downhill from there
yeah its a pretty tough enemy
you could platform barricade them and ignore the weeds
dang that woulda been so smart
I feel like the odd one out when I say the Korlok is one of my favorite enemies, I mostly play solo and it's hardly ever been a bane of my existence
definitely the odd one out but im glad you dont struggle with it like i do
I agree, ive only ever had one single time where it gave me a hard time, other than that theyre actually pretty easy to deal with, i think the majority of the player base is just really bad at the game lmfao
It's honestly just really unfortunate that it spawned there. I wonder how it got triggered though, it actually looked like Dotty was far enough away to not start the fight.
To ne honest, most teams would probably get wiped by this, the only way that you could have prevented it, would be by drilling ahead before you started Dotty, and that would be about it. You really can't fight a korlock without at least one resupply. (Or if the first room had at least 80 nitra).
Im finally starting to become accustomed to your personality.
Turrets apparently don't exist
yeah its a bad habit of mine... maybe i should just do the one bigger turret so its just one thing to remember each time
@@DrDevvi True. I see you like the shotgun, so maybe give turret whip another try as well?
@@DrDevvi I most often bring the heavy turret, the smaller ones can be cool on point extraction missions, but always take armor piercing, or they go empty on heavy enemies.
Hey Devvi,
Tip when doing escort missions, if you have a driller have them drill to atleast the first refuel point and if you want the second or the the heart stone
that seems like a lot of prior planning though
@@DrDevvi when Lachy is involved i guess so
Even when I solo Escort missions as Engie, I will manually pickaxe all the way to the heartstone to make sure I clear out everything - even in biomes that take three hits on their terrain.
Your worst enemy is gravity
thats a fact
Been grinding this game to hopefully get special powder before season five gets here, love the content
its so fun, i finally got it a little while ago and its great (im a huge danger to myself with special powder)
@@DrDevvi ok so like 3 hours after I posted that I finally got it and it's super fun yet incredibly dangerous
"Me and my dad in the shower". What did his dad do to him?
dont ask questions you dont want the answer to
@@DrDevvi your probably right
idk why but korloks always seem to just get insta killed by doretta running it over
every.
single.
time.
I see one in escort duty. I don't why it just ends being in the way.
dang thats really lucky. i once had doretta run over a bunny on the easter event. actually pretty lucky cause those bunnies are hard to hit
"There's a weed here, what are we going to do about it?"
"DIVERT THE DRILLDOZER!"
The weed was on crack😮
he was on x games
u shall prank him with drop pod full of barrels in lobby
thats my secret weapon whenever he annoys me
Can confirm tyrant weed is the most frustrating enemy in the game
yep, and this spawn location didnt help much either
Disagreed, its the nemesis when it spawns right outside of the drop pod and it grabs the entire team and throws them off a ledge and we have to restart due to it
That's what you get for not fully checking the room for nitra, mister!
90% of my deaths in the last month is the damn tyrant weed it always spawns when i have low ammo
its the bane of my existence
its the bane of the caves
I can relate.
Hahaha they dont "spawn" when you have low ammo they spawn at the mission start, its YOU who found it when YOU had low ammo..... The tyrant weed isnt hard, you guys must be really bad
This hurts
me too
My top tip for Escort missions:
*Never, ever immediately start Dotty.* Always dig all the way to the final room, easily done with a Driller, clearing out each room of resources and enemies. This ensures minimal problems from such things as Bulks or Korloks and allows you to more easily fully focus on keeping Dotty healed and fueled
i bet that would help so much... but that's just too much work
@@DrDevvi if you have a full squad you have them go forward and have 1 wait back for 60 seconds before starting the machine this helps to space the tank from the fighting
or you could pop the hazard down and not spend 20 minutes more than you need to...
THIS is why I swear by pre-drilling
Whould have been a good time to drill ahead.
yeah im beginning to realise some digging would have fully prevented this
@DrDevvi If only you had a driller who knew how to drill in a straight line.
The worst enemy is easily the trijaw. Let’s just duct tape 3 mactera spawn together and make them more common than spawns and always appear in packs of 6-12 with the ability to one shot you.
yeah they are so tough, dont get me started on the elite trijaws
This is first favorite deep rock galactic youtuber to watch now as i am a new player still. Great vid👍
im glad you're enjoying the content!
A Deep Rock youtuber!? Yes please!
im glad you found the channel! lots more content coming
haven't even watched the video, but i saw the thumbnail
i hate these things. so much. doesn't help that it feels like they mostly spawn in mini mule missions for me (which i also hate). like, in the past 3 or so mini mule missions ive done, one of them TODAY, i've encountered 2
well wait till you see where this one spawned
@@DrDevvi
ill admit, i've never had one in a doretta mission. I'm pretty sure they're supposed to be rare, but i got another just yesterday
I usually see you struggling when you get swarmed by glyphids, so to avoid this you could throw a shredder grenade and just pop a speedboost. Trust me, you're literally untouchable as long as you use shredder grenades until the end. Guaranteed to save you against any grunt or swarmer :)
Also, if you don't have shredder grenades anymore and you get swarmed by swarmers, using the picaxe is actually better than the shotgun or running (if they have already gotten hits on you and you are stunned and can't run). They will leave you at low health but usually if you swat at them with your picaxe while walking away they only leave you at half health or so.
i gotta stop just panicking when they swarm me lmao
"probably a lot less stressed" XD
its probably true lmao
Bro i literally played drg for 300 hours and I still didn't kill that fucking korlok even once.
thats wild, do you just always avoid them
@@DrDevvi No!! Me and the boys always try to kill him but it doesn't work.
Shoulda brought the weedwacker
that would have helped here
May I ask: what upgrades do you have on your Hyper Propellant rocket launcher?
off the top of my head i dont know exactly but i always go more ammo mods for tier 1 and 2 and then probably armor breaking and anything that does direct damage. ignore any mods that change projectile velocity, its irrelevant for a hyper build
@@DrDevvi thanks, I'm assuming you use the randomized damage perk? Because the damage on the Dreadnoughts seem very all over the place.
@@DestruoTheWithered I think it's cause I'm missing the weak spot but I'm not too sure.
A weed! Time to call the police
old joke. overused. mods ban him
Time to get a gunner friend my dwarf 😂😂😂
that woulda helped, we need someone with ammo
@@DrDevvi find a good partner lmao 🤣 and one that fun as heck as y'all aswell lmao 🤣
I’m so heartbroken 😭💔
this was truly a sad ending for a drdevvi video
Yeah I hate this fuc@$ng weed
saaaaame
Le pain
no happy endings in -night city- deep rock galactic
Korloks are made by elves
id believe that
This is why you drill ahead, you can do events and mine without tye threat of swarms. dotty can't take damage, and you can clear out hazards
Also Daily warthog hate
everyone seems to agree that digging ahead is smart... but im too lazy for that, id rather just blindly run into the mission and complain later
@@DrDevvi lol
womp womp
(great video)
huge rip moment
I don’t really think that they are that bad. In my 100 hours of playing it only fought him 3 times
dang only 3 you got lucky, ive fought it too many times. ended my mission multiple times now
W
w but this time a vey sad L at the end
