People (licensed falconers) bird hunt using their falcons, and they DO get the birds from them, so it isn't entirely out of the realm of possibility. Also, one of the Far East countries has a history of using pelicans to fish. Their techniques involve a long leash around the neck of the bird and once the bird gets a fish the fisherman pulls on the role, constricting the birds ability to swallow the fish after catching it. Saw a documentary on it many years ago. Crazy to watch in action!

Wow, talk about precision. The way the eagle slowed down and extended its legs only to where the water barely covered the feet, and the climb back up is very efficient. Eagles are truly majestic.

At 23 seconds, you can actually see the eagles rear talon sink all the way into the salmons head. Instant death from above.

Eagles truly are incredible birds. Imagine the pinpoint accuracy needed to not only catch a fish, but a Salmon nonetheless. Salmon are incredibly fast swimmers and are hard to catch. For an eagle to not only spot the Salmon in the river and track its movement, but to also accurately scoop it out of the water is impressive as hell.

This animal is what inspires the US. Nope, it is not Panda. And, get real. Panda has no Kungfu, happily chewing bamboo shoots. While it is huge, it isn't spreading its wings to span across a wide area, unlike the Bald Eagle. :)

While fishing in a beautiful Oregon lake, an eagle grabbed a rainbow trout about 15 feet from my canoe. Scared the hell out of me. The eagle was mostly speckled brown, so I think it was a female, and she looked huge that close up. A once in a lifetime experience.
The females look the same as the males at maturity. That was probably a juvenile.

FUN FACT: Whenever a bald Eagle flies to catch a fish, the dramatic music starts. Seems like fish would learn that’s the sign that an aerial predator is coming. 🤣
