Love this video, helped me to clean it. One point the Interspiro technician told me is that after every fifth dive or so I should put a drop of silicone oil into the center of the sealing disc so that it does get stuck and the breathing gets more difficult. Is this in your opinion correct or do you have an other opinion? Thanks for a short feedback. Best regards, Alex
Alex, the following information is provided by the manufacturer’s representative, Aaron O’Brien. Arron is the subject matter expert and I’m happy to help with the question you posed. “We use our silicone lube not oil on the stem to stop chatter. It is not alway needed and if done with improper lube could cause difficulty breathing.”
I have spoken with two people from Interspiro and neither has heard of nor recommends waxing the skirt of the mask. The skirts are available in natural rubber and silicon, and each should be treated differently, but neither requires waxing according to the manufacturer.
There is no difference in the mask. When the mask is part of the whole SSA system its called a MK2 system. If you have any additional questions or concerns, you are welcome to phone us toll free at 1-800-248-3483 and ask for our mask service department. Our technicians will gladly answer any questions. We also offer expedited factory authorized repair service on most major brands of full face masks, underwater communication systems and drysuits.
Please make a call to the office in the morning. 1-800-248-3483 or +1-970-482-0887. Ask for “Steve” as either “Steve” can get you a price. Thank you for your interest.

The optically correct visor is manufactured from tough, polycarbonate plastic, about 3mm thick. In the water, its differential refractive index is reduced almost to zero - meaning there in no distortion of view.

Best mask in the world
Forgive me if I missed it ... but do you treat the rubber? I know a guy who waxes his interspiro. Is this a good move?
