He's the champion of a world previously held by the Gods of Twelve before he gathered the Six Primordial Dofus of his world and gained godlike power (apparently for good intentions but you see how that turned out). His world fell to ruin and the Gods fled to what is now the World of Twelve, so the various members of his army are actually different races enslaved to his will and turned into subspecies of his race (or something like that). Later, the Gods of Twelve banished the Goddess Eliatrope to that world in the hope that they could use her as an infinite source of Wakfu to fix that world and regain their worshipers, but it actually just lured one of the Firstborn Eliatropes and her dragon brother to the place. The dragon sacrificed himself to give the Eliatrope and the Goddess the time to flee but got converted, which gave the Big Bad the ability to open portals and expand to other planets to take their Wakfu. Basically, this entire threat is because the Gods fucked up and indirectly gave a being with godlike power and infinite hunger the ability to spread to other worlds.
Some weird ritual fuckery where he got drained of his Wakfu but also aged for some reason. Basically, not that much time has actually passed, he was just artificially aged (so the show can actually ship Yugo x Amalia without it being weird)

And he grew physically because his Wakfu is the thing that kept him looking young. Draining it in that ritual takes that away and tada, he grows to how he is NATURALLY supposed to look.
