Calendar Girl is voiced by Sela Ward, an actress who, at the time this episode was made, was conducting a protest campaign against Hollywood's emphasis on youth and its harmful effects on public perception. This episode-the villainess of which is a beautiful woman who has nonetheless been cruelly marginalized after she "turned 30"-could be construed as part of the same campaign. (As per DCAU wiki)
When Lucius was talking about retirement, I immediately think that you guys should continue with BATMAN BEYOND and see a semi retired Bruce Wayne as Batman.
Between this, Baby Doll and Clayface it feels like the producers were biting the hand that feeds. Trying to bring across the major problems with their field. A very unique new villain in Calendar Girl, based off the similarly holiday-themed Calendar Man but with a harsh look into dysmorphia. I suppose the green suit does make her look a bit like Shego.
I've always liked the idea of Calendar Girl better than Calendar Man just for the pun alone. Batgirl vs Calendar Girl sounds cooler to me than Batman vs Calendar Man. Heck, we all know that Bruce has a lot of experience w/ supermodels.
13:25 We saw two of them in one of her old photos from her modelling days. I guess they were models who worked with her a lot but also got dropped because they started to be deemed to old - doesn't matter how much they work out or if they touch up the grey, they're still considered too old.
I hope that if they don't react to the superman animated series, they still react to the Batman/Superman crossover, the Justice League series, and Batman Beyond. All these shows are the cultivation of Bruce Timm's work and deserves more love and attention.
Calendar Girl is one of my favorite villains; her story is dark, sad, and representative of issues that are very real today. This messed up the topic of women being met with unrealistic expectations that twist their minds into believing they are not good enough.
@@GambitFinale__ who hurt you my dude? I think this episode is underrated and nothing more to it, I didn’t think there was more to type about it but if you want I can.
It's one of the most underrated episodes I've ever seen when it's happened a lot she is beautiful. But because she's been rejected and used by Hollywood and stardom, she aged out, and she didn't see her beauty anymore she just saw that she was expired goods. Because she was tossed aside the industry she worked for only favors younger women at a certain age, you'll be replaced. They become disposable. She was broken mentally. I loved that line at the end. Batgirl: she's beautiful And Batman says it perfectly as always. " she can't see that anymore. All she sees are the flaws."
What you guys never saw the Chris Farley vs Patrick Swayze dance off as Chip'en'dales hopefuls on SNL a long time back. Probably one of the best skits ever.
They were gonna do calendar man eventually, But they went with their own character instead, I don't mind to change I grow up watching this show as a kid so If I never seen it before. It's new to me, That quote is from family guy by the way.
The character of Mannequin was probably inspired by the False Face character on the 1960s Batman television show. The character was played by Malachi Throne.
seems they never actually did calendar man for btas. probably because his crimes were more of the serial killer variety and that just wasn't appropriate for a kid's show. so they did this derivative take with calendar girl instead.

Amazing that it got included
would be a lot crazier if she's voiced by Erin Moriarty though

This is a great twist on the Batman villain Calendar Man who does holiday themed crimes.
Calender girl was voiced by Sela ward a soap star who also did documentation about youth beauty standard
Lucius' conversation makes me hope they go straight into Batman Beyond once they finish this series.
What about superman?

Agreed 💯 they should also at least do the other crossovers of Batman & Superman during this timeframe besides World's Finest

Underrated episode
Here’s the underrated comment. Everything has at least one these days
@@GambitFinale__ who hurt you my dude? I think this episode is underrated and nothing more to it, I didn’t think there was more to type about it but if you want I can.
Probably one of the most tragic Batman villains in the show.

Batgirl: she's beautiful
And Batman says it perfectly as always.
" she can't see that anymore. All she sees are the flaws."
Is always fun when Batman Returns!
Love the design of her mask
13:02 Calendar Girls are pin up girls but it's also marking the passage of time.
calender girl reminds me of doll face from the twisted metal reboot on the ps3 they are similar but the reasons why they wear the mask is different
Technically Calendar Girl is a mix of Calendar Man and Holiday.
For those who don’t know how did Batman get the t-rex as a trophy and here’s your answer
What you guys never saw the Chris Farley vs Patrick Swayze dance off as Chip'en'dales hopefuls on SNL a long time back. Probably one of the best skits ever.
I've heard the actress was once told that she was 'too old' to be a Bond Girl.
They were gonna do calendar man eventually, But they went with their own character instead, I don't mind to change I grow up watching this show as a kid so If I never seen it before. It's new to me, That quote is from family guy by the way.
I hope they watch Superman TAS, then JL then BB
The character of Mannequin was probably inspired by the False Face character on the 1960s Batman television show.
The character was played by Malachi Throne.
To me, this is the most underrated and most tragic Batman TAS villain. (Honestly, I think she’s more sympathetic than Baby Doll)
Imagine looking beautiful but only able to see the imperfections. So sad

I would hardly all this derivative
Another amazing video
So it was April 1st when they watched this episode so they're already probably finished with BTAS and started watching whatever replaces it
I can’t wait till you guys see Over the edge…
oh aaron you really dont get it, kalvin did
Its like the Twilight Zone episode
Wow I do not remember this episode AT ALL 😂
Loved your reaction as always❤. You should watch society of the snow. It's a great movie and I would love to hear what you have to say about that one.
Aaron, do you have training in dance? You know how to _move._
Can you guys please do a reaction of Spider-Man the animation series
Which one?
90s
@@primepm8861 The one that came out in 1994.
Courtney Cox's villain origin story
Or justice league?
