The problem is, the Rotu 4 didn't have the numbers. They had a 4 person alliance, which wasn't enough. Even after the Rob vote, it was the Rotu 4 vs 5 other players (Pappy, Neleh, V, Sean and Kathy). They needed someone else in their alliance....even just one person that they could drag to final 5 and eliminate. Since they didn't have that extra person in their alliance, it made it even more important to keep the alliance secret. It seems that everyone understood that, except for John, until the coconut challenge, where all of the cards were laid out on the table. All they had to do was get past the coconut challenge and they could have the game in the bag. Had John kept his mouth shut, and/or if they had played the coconut challenge a bit closer to the cuff, this alliance would have been successful, barring an immunity run by Kathy.

After the Gabe vote, you see the Rotu 4 all chillin together there, and then after the John vote, you see the 5 against him all singing together there. Seemed like the VIP room for all the cool kids hung out, and anyone else who wanted to use it had to wait their turn.
John getting way too cocky all season and then getting blindsided was amazing. Then in the post-vote interview he cried because he was so embarrassed and could only come up with "at least I have abs." What a tool, deserved to go out in flames.

What I found most interesting about this is how is shines a light on Rob's biggest fault in this game that is still true nearly twenty years later. He is incapable of doing anything with finesse. Good Point! Rob in his first season was unfinished version of himself! Good but not great yet! Sean hasn’t played in 21 years and 40 season and still more miserable than most survivor player form past 30 seasons!
I have no idea what was up with Gabe.... this isn't some way to make a community, you HAVE to remove people, and people are here for both the expeience but also the million the dollars and title of sole survivor. Why he thought they could make some convent, or community is totally baffling? What did he think they'd all just stay here after the show? Was it a persona he put on? Or was it just him literally not knowing the game?
The first 7 seasons of survivor are so much better. With the exception of Thailand. Less advantages and gimmicks. More people in it for the adventure and not just "playing the game. Less woke and politically correct. And cast members playing that season, and not to be a returning "character." They should do an old school season with no advantages or hidden immunity idols.
I mean, one of them had all of its members as the last four standing of its season and the other was infamously overthrown in spectacular fashion, so I don't think that's a particularly controversial statement...

What? Why did Zoey vote for John?
They never explained it in the show.
Given what happened in the next episode, I reckon it was to try and sell the narrative that there was no alliance.
Lets make a deal
You do a video on Kathy's journey in Marquesas, I will join your patreon
I found this channel too late to have known about the character selection process, since she is my favorite player (and follows me on a couple social media platforms) I wont budge, but I would direct message her the link to said video
Lets make an alliance!
You have the deal backwards lol
Rob and Sean sure made a complete mess of this game didn't they? lol a couple of chaotic wrecking balls
John Carol, zero percent chance of winning this game
After the challenge... yeah.
I like that Spencer Bledsoe reference, good one Collin!
Please do KAthy
Patrons pick the stories!
Once Upon An Island Oh Okay , I am waiting for Season 7 , good job on The videos
The first 7 seasons of survivor are so much better. With the exception of Thailand.
Less advantages and gimmicks. More people in it for the adventure and not just "playing the game.
Less woke and politically correct. And cast members playing that season, and not to be a returning "character."
They should do an old school season with no advantages or hidden immunity idols.
Aitu 4 better than Rotu 4
I mean, one of them had all of its members as the last four standing of its season and the other was infamously overthrown in spectacular fashion, so I don't think that's a particularly controversial statement...
@@Rodanguirus well that and the Aitu 4 members were more likable than the members of the Rotu 4.
This season was full of voting mistakes, which ruined the season and kept in all boring people plus Sean. They were all going on about Jesus and not lying etc. it’s Survivor dumb dumbs! That’s the point of the game! I went in expecting Boston Rob to at least make final 4 as he’s such a big deal only for him to flame out and be beaten by John (who at least made a good villain). Only saving grace was seeing John cry to his mom after he got voted out. 😂
💖
Tammy is a lot like Corinne
🌹🌹
Zoey was a train wreck. The jewelry smfh.
WHO FLIPPED?!?
John was their major downfall.
Tammy was OK, but I absolutely hated the other three, especially Zoe.
Zoe is so rude
