Good Job.. Repair, remake & recycling are best way to save the Nature and world.. New Fashion..means peoples running just for latest fashion its Stupid money marketing business. Use and throw things are most dangerous, all making dirty our nature .. So recycle all maximum..to save the nature..
Working on one for a customer currently - they're alright to repair, nothing too hectic/difficult when it comes to welding them. They rust, but there's always an end to the rust close enough to each repair, I.E good metal to work back off & the shapes are simple as chips, nothing too swervy-curvy to get excited about. Good vans IMO - the mechanicals are tank.
At a glance, gun the chaps using is too restrictive & dry - you see that clearly with the primer, it's going on too thin & too dry with a tiny fan - you want to be hosing that stuff on with a big fan. Same goes for all the other paint coats, that gun sucks. Great outcome considering the gear used. That paintgun would do my head in.
That was awesome. This is way better than going to the junkyard and much cheaper than buying a brand new 2019 or 2020 vehicle! Why doesn't everybody do this?!?!?
This was a lot of fun to watch. A suggestion: use a tripod and do a time lapse. It helps show the scope of the job and it is easy to edit together. Slide shows of still photography are antiquated. It should be a last resort. A backup, if you loose all your footage. The jobs you choose are interesting and show a lot of skill and ingenuity. Keep up the good work.
All the Vanettes are gone here in Europe, mostly by rust, the few survivors by emission laws... My uncle had one like this in luxury version, turned it into a stealth camper long before the style was even known! :-) But with your backyard paint job, all cars of the neighbours look the same now... :-D Great job!
I think there are still some left in Austria. I remember seeing one in Vienna not too long ago. The oldest Japanese car I've seen here recently was an early-80s (I think pre--1983) Toyota Lite Ace in a strange reddish brown. It's still on black plates, which means it hasn't changed hands and the owners haven't moved outside Vienna since at least 1990 (every time that happens, new plates are issued and new plates are white with black lettering since 01/01/90). A family I knew from school drove a 1986 LiteAce with black plates, originally yellow but painted like a flower meadow with blue sky above. They sold it to a collector in the mid-2000s. Apparently the original owner painted the car right as she bought it and sold it after only one year, maybe because she moved overseas, not quite sure about that.
Nissan sold a similar van in the USA. However, to get more American drivers interested, they included a 3.0L V6. Unfortunately, they made some mistakes in design, and the van became a huge fire risk. Nissan bought back these vans in the USA and destroyed all of them to prevent a lawsuit. I never imagined a lawsuit could cost as much as all those vans did.
My dad had one of these buses it was dark blue and orange and growing up as a kid i used to help fix it when it get a problem it was one exactly like this
OEM and aftermarket manufacturers often continue making parts if the car is a desirable classic. For example, it might not be difficult to find something for a 1965 Ford Mustang.
Most people would just send that van for scrap. I know in Canada here that's what would happen, we are a throw away society. We'd be ridiculed and discouraged from restoring this van because it's not worth anything. If something happened to it, insurance would give you very little. This is recycling, takes less energy to restore this van than it does to make a new car and I'm a greenie. Like what you do here, keep it up.Should send you my 58 Chev.
I loved watching this.. I have been to Sri Lanka, beautiful country and beautiful people.
Yes its right

Plz come back😅
Doing what you can, with the tools you've got, in the middle of the bush and getting a result like that? Priceless. Great job and well done!

Wonderful!!!The restoration is done by one person with a helper. The restored vehicle looks good. Great mechanic 👍👍
Eka nam Elakiri .Jaya wewa.
Great job. Btw, this only works in poorer countries, since otherwise the labor and parts costs will greatly surpass the vehicle value.
Absolutely a beautiful restoration, you should be very proud of yourself. Job very well done.
Me gusta mucho 😃😃😃.

What about the wiring n engin?
Nice work. Cool welding technic.👍🏻
I'd think that's brazing, more soldering than welding. But if it works... why not?
@@Ragnar8504 the weld / braze is strong but weekens the surrounding metal for that reason UK stopped the use of gas welding and insisted on mig work

Great job! Good looking van.
im just wondering how did he manage to source so many parts for an old van
Japanese makers tend to discontinue parts for older models
Same way everyone else does. Used and aftermarket. If a model is popular, the dealer may keep providing panels that fit older variants.
@@forevercomputing ohhhh yeaah forgot about that
