She grew up listening to a lot of punk rock and pop rock. Her parents were big rock fans and often took her to rock concerts as a kid so she’s said that some of the songs on her upcoming album are rock and are inspired by her childhood and pay tribute to her parents.
she just doesn't miss! i've never seen an artist establish such wide range and versatility with just 3 songs! it was also pretty bold of her to drop a song like this so early on in her career, props to her! she's a star for sure and she definitely knows what she's doing
As a millennial this song took me back to screaming Misery Business at 14 at the top of my lungs 😂 I love Olivia so much. It’s fun seeing the music of my generation and their obvious influence on her art.
In this case, it’s actually not hard. I’ve only been playing guitar a year and change but the chords in this song are D, A, E, practically the most used chords in history
she said she wrote all of her songs in this album when she was 17 and only 1 this year, so yes she originally writes her stuff and Dan helps with some changes.
@@maxinesalvador3977 i thought so too until i started watching videos about her and Dan writting and producing the album, you realise that is not actually about him which was kinda sad cause the tea was good lmao

i was totally with you when you said this should’ve been the second single after drivers license but i think i know why they chose that route. good4u is a promo single leading up to her album, and i think if they did this with déjà vu the hype would not have measured up. you should see the outpouring praise this song is getting and people are HYPED for her album. i think it was a marketing move in general, but for sure this song would dominate the charts and i’m sad they’re not promoting it to radio.

Actually, others have done something where they originally released songs as promotional singles, but became full-fledged singles immediately after the amount of press and praise they have gotten. ...Ready For It? by Taylor, telepatia by Kali Uchis (she originally wasn't planning on this being a huge single, but a gift to the fans), and Confetti by Little Mix in the UK are the ones that stand out to me in today's hit music scene.
@@aaliyahfoster2705 i really hope that it turns out that way! it has so much potential especially once she performs it on SNL, it will only continue to explode

I can definitely see this being the final set on tour, and the "ah-ah-ah" harmonies before the bridge being when she thanks her band and attendees. I am WAY too excited for her shows.
On the contrary, I think it was smart to release deja vu as a follow up to sort of tide you over after dl, and then pick it back up before the album drop.
@@FongioHELS they were literally just pointing out that she was acting like a stereotype. Cuz she was. Intentionally. The offensive term is what she was going for 🙄

This would do well on Stranger Things as Eleven realizes that Mike maybe doesn't love her as much as she thought and she goes on a ramage to kill monsters!
I'm a grandma. My granddaughters are 12 and 9 and I turn the station to top 40 for them when i Pick them up. I've heard this song many times and I love it.
