Lyell Bremser and Kent Pavelka was to Nebraska Fans what Gordon Sollie was for Pro Wrestling. The 2 had an admiration of Nebraska Football and knew how to pull you into the game. Holly Moley Man Woman and Child!

I remember Lyell for a few years. I was 16 when he retired. Not only was that radio on in our house every Saturday during football season, but you could walk into any store in Omaha and listen to the game. That went on during Kent's tenure as well. Those were the Big 8 and NCAA championship years. This is the first time I've seen Lyell's face. Not quite what I expected, but I got the age range right.

Lyell and Kent...in my mind, the perfect combination. Just like Harry Caray and Jack Buck for Cardinals baseball will never be topped.

The first video was from 1982 or 1983, I was too young to really remember him but my father and grandfather both have very fond memories of the playcalling by Bremser. Following retirement they moved to Rio Verde, a gold club resort on the northeast side of Phoenix AZ. Sad that he died only a few years later.

Like Johnny Carson and Jack Buck there will never be another. My favorite moment and I can’t name the game or year but he “occasionally” enjoy a cold beverage and once called a breakaway run describing the runner passing the 45 the 50 the 55...then realizing the goof he took a breath and announced “TOUCHDOWN” and turned up the crowd noise to that thunderous roar. Not one KFAB listener give a hoot and I never met another fan who caught the oops. Great memories

The first time I heard that call of his during the Rodges punt return, I thought it was Keith Jackson!!

Bremser's career actually started more than a decade before Jackson's.
