What a FANTASTIC boat!!! I have been thinking about a short one. Until now! She is beautiful! Will she sell before I talk to the Embassy about a Visa? Oh! And I have to sell my grandson on the idea. Congratulations to whoever beats me to it!
Amazing boat - my favourite one yet. Good size Fridge Freezer. A real home from home. Length would restrict you from some routes though. But I think you could do most of the network.
This boat is exceptional in design in layout and one of the best values for the buck I've seen. Yes, you will be limited where you can take it, but it is perfect for those travelling as a family or for those who often entertain. And . . . there's room for a digital piano too ! I don't think this one will last long.
To comment on the size, if you look at Rugby Boats size map there are only four canals in the north that this boat can not go so although this is true there is little impact having a 70' boat. I brought a 70' boat three years ago now and converted the back bedroom to a laundry and storage area for larger items which houses small motor bikes and pushbikes. As far as furniture I went for comfort, captains chairs, dining table and if required they can be moved aside for a blow up bed. I find sofa beds a poor alternative for sitting or sleeping. If I really want to do those four I can hire a smaller one just for that or go on some day cruises.
If you can afford a boat that big, fitted out as it is, you likely can afford to have it professionally relocated between the north and the south and/or own or hire a second smaller craft to travel the interconnecting canals between the two regions. Although if i am honest if i had a large enough party to fill out THIS boat, i would prefer a pair of shorter crafts (40-50s ) than can cruise cooperatively,
The only bit you cant do is the Leeds Liverpool, Huddersfield Broad and the connecting Calder and Hebble. Everything south of that is do-able....its not a widebeam.
I have nothing to really complain about with this boat. Sure, it's a bit too long, but it uses its length to good use. I'd replace one of the bathrooms with storage, turn the back cabin into an office/work space. Some of the decor would be changed but that's personal preference and not an issue with the boat. The hydraulic drive I've never seen before, and would love to know the decisions behind it. It would make it easier to convert the boat to a hybrid drive system, wouldn't it? At the price, it won't be around long
Instead of buying into becoming a Scottish Laird we could crowd fund this boat by claiming that for 10EU you can get a certificate in the mail declaring yourself a member of the Admiralty

I live in the Midwest in the US in a Craftsman home built in 1919. I swear the galley on this boat is larger than my kitchen.😬

Bow camera. Brilliant! You would think bow camera's, would be a most sought after addition to canal navigation!

It's cheaper than an alternative home in most parts of the UK.
Tiny saloon for a 70 foot boat. Very poor use of space. Very nicely fitted out however.
This is big enough just for me Alone.
