- Close to 250,000 people hit the streets of London, UK to commemorate Nakba day as well as call for a immediate end to the ongoing genocide in Gaza perpetrated by Israel. The march commemorated the 76th anniversary of the Nakba, which led to the forced displacement of 750,000 Palestinians from their homes.

The original meaning behind nakba was the disappointment that the Jews weren't destroyed by the 5 invading armies. most of those displaced ran away from the fighting, including many, many arab soldiers who took off their uniforms and fled.

Gaza has its own government, army, police force, hospitals, public services, etc. And no jews have lived there since 2005, so why are these protestors shouting free, free Palistine? They weren't shouting free, free Palistine when the Egyptians occupied Gaza for 1000 years up until 1967 when Egypt attacked Israel. Israel won that war, and Israel in fact liberated the land called Gaza today, during that war. The jews withdrew from Gaza in 2005, Gaza was free already!
