I've done some research. Marathon Media, the people who made this, also made Gormiti. So now Marathon has two cartoons based around transformation. Also, even though this was aired on Cartoon Network for a while, in anything showing every cartoon on CN this is the only show forgot about.

@@ehzannavas7794 Hydrax is their monster. Hydrax, Hydra. Hiverax, Hivemimd. The names are cool.. but now I’m thinking that, instead of just being shadow monsters, Frangrax, Wrendax, Neurax and Hydrax were personal creations of Lokar for the Hiverax
@@Thewavedemonjackal I initially supposed they use special Kairu from their own planet, which rendered fusions possible… but the comics showed everyone was from a different planet, and the Kairu was universal, so I really don’t know. I wish this series could’ve continued, so that we could have learnt more…

My theory on why their monster fuses is that because it’s shadow kairu, something that has changed all the rules. If it can infect and corrupt a normal monster, then fusing three monsters together wouldn’t be impossible. And I’m still wondering about how Hydrax itself even works. Three heads but only one body. Do the triplets only control the part of the body that their monster contributes to form Hydrax? (Legs for fangrax, arms for wrendax and torso for Neurax) or maybe it can only be used safely if the three components are in sync? Like, if they aren’t completely in sync and focused, the monster either falls apart or the individuals controlling Hydrax begin to lose themselves? I get that Hydrax was a gimmick for the triplets but it’s interesting to think about what happens if someone else uses Hydrax. Sucks that they ended the series
