You definitely were more on the ball doing the haircutting preparation than most. You watched youtube tutorials, you sketched out cutting instructions, sectioned your hair and trimmed it in manageable amounts. Kudos on a job well done. My husband is the family barber and stylist and he has the proper tools and supplies to do the haircuts for my teen boys as well as cut my hair. He has been doing their haircuts as well as mine for years and has gotten quite good at doing them. As my boys got older they wanted their hair cut different than when they were quite young. So hubby checked TH-cam videos to improve his process and while barbershops and salons are closed, we are still getting our haircuts at home on a regular schedule. I am sure your boyfriend ill get more proficient with more practice and experience. Looking good 👍🏼
It is a big savings, with four in the family, we save over $1200 a year, no chump change at all. After this lockdown debacle, there will be a rush of people going to get haircuts, but I see a significant portion of the population that has found they can get as good, if not better results skipping the salons/barbershops, doing it themselves and saving money, especially those who bought good quality tools to do the job.
Yeah we’ve noticed the difference it makes to have good tools! Ours are pretty basic but still the indicated to do the job, but we’re starting to consider an upgrade! Since we’re going to move to London next year I think we will need a bigger safety net... not worth it to spend in salons definitely!
