    My mistake was not choosing my embarkation slot when I booked! I always wait until I buy my flight ticket to choose an embarkation slot but I just recalled that gif you don’t plan to fly in on embarkation day they don’t ask your flight info. Thanks for the amazing tip, it saved me 9 days of possible headaches on my cruise!😅

    I enjoy cruising but my wife does not. We both enjoyed our relaxing cruise on the Valiant Lady last February, but she doesn't want to go again. Therefore, I'm considering a solo cruise. How is the solo cruise experience on VV? BTW, we made the "mistake" of skipping the signature events and don't regret it for a minute. We're elderly and not party people, so we found our early nights and early mornings relaxing and fulfilling.

      Thanks for watching, Randall! I cruise solo with Virgin in April and had a fabulous time. They have meetups for solo Sailors starting day one including a dinner on the first night. I met friends right away and we hung out for the rest of the cruise. I highly recommend giving a solo sailing a try!

    We have done one Virgin cruise almost a year ago and it was terrible. We have one booked next week and I am not feeling very good about it. The first issue we had last year was that when we got on the ship around 2:00pm everything was booked. We never had any option to “choose” our arrival time. Everything for the entire week was booked. It was easily the stupidest thing I’ve ever encountered from a cruise line. There were numerous other issues during the week as well but that was by far the worst thing. So we finally booked this one 5 or 6 months ago and never had an option to choose our arrival time. We finally got assigned 3:15 a couple of weeks ago. So likely we will be in the same boat (pun intended I guess) not being able to book anything. I would cancel the cruise if I could. We are flying in a day early with the idea that we would be available for an early time. Now we’re just screwed. My wife booked the cruises and I wonder if there’ something she missed? We did the check-in as soon as we could. It was not right after booking though. I feel like we are missing something somewhere. I am still hoping for a better experience this time around but their ridiculous check-in booking limitation looks like it will bite us again. Last year we had indifferent service, incompetent bartenders, inedible food at 2 of the restaurants and freezing temps in several of the areas of the ship. We were on a cruise where the occupancy was more than doubled from the previous crew along with a rotation of a large percentage of the crew. I had hoped that the issues we experienced were due to the the crew’s lack of experience and the large increase in passengers. It took me 6 months to convince my wife that we should give them another shot.

      Thanks for watching and so sorry to hear you had some challenges on your last cruise. There is an option to choose your arrival time slot at the port if you go all the way through the check in process in the app. The last step is to select your arrival time. It’s helpful to select the earliest time available but not to worry if you get a later time. Virgin has added additional programming of popular events like Grog Walk to allow for more people to sign up. I would also recommend continuing to check back on the events that may be sold out, as people change their plans and cancel. The other thing you may be eligible for is a loyalty status match. If you do qualify, one of the perks is expedited boarding. Google Virgin Voyages Deep Blue Extras and look for the loyalty status match program. You may also want to consider working with a travel advisor in the future - We help with all these details. I hope you have an amazing cruise!

      Our second Virgin cruise was fantastic. They seem to have fixed every issue that we had on our first one. They matched our RC Diamond Loyalty status so they let us on the ship as soon as boarding started. We easily got reservations for everything we wanted. The food and drinks were dramatically more consistent. It ended up being an awesome experience. They still have a tendency to serve warmish champagne drinks but several of the bartenders actually filled the glasses with ice water first so it wasn’t so noticeable. We really appreciated the effort. Every cruise has some issues and we don’t mind as long as there is some effort to fix it. Every crew member that we interacted with was pleasant and friendly. That was 180 degrees from our cruise last year. We will be cruising with Virgin in the future. I would love to see them add longer US cruises as we live in Texas and flying to Miami for a 5 night cruise is not super appealing. I REALLY appreciate that they have fixed everything that was wrong with our first Virgin cruise experience. Thank you for the advice to match our loyalty status!
