So great to see an Elliott clock... I used to work for F W Elliotts in Hastings in the 80's and 90's... I assembled the timepieces and tested them, brass polished and lacquered the bezels, worked on lathes producing various parts, silver plated the dials and screen printed the hour circles, I loved working there, lots of good memories! Thank you

Thank you for an excellent video on the great English Elliot Clock. You kept mentioning quality and how true that is I have several in different woods and styles which always leave me smiling when I look at them. Thank you for posting the video.

I have one of those Military Clocks hanging on my wall right now! EXCELLENT Time Keeper! I LOVE Clocks; I have a house full of them - but cannot repair them; I know nothing really of how they work - but Mechanical Clocks are WONDERUL!

Amazing to see that watch-like escapement and your incredible devotion, skills and workshop! Thank you… The brass fusee movement reminds me of my 1870s Angelo Tornaghi Australian Cedar cased railway clock. This clock has an error of less than 30 Sec/ week and is a joy to own. Thank you for telling us about Elliot Clocks-will keep an eye peeled :-)

Hello- I live in Chattanooga, TN. USA. I am 72 and have been watching The Repair Shop and just saw you here. You and all the others have so inspired me to get off my butt and get out many old clocks and other items to start working on to hand down to my grandkids . Keep up all the work. Franklin & Diane Sevy.

I have two Ellott chimes both have Westminster Whittington and both have the platform escapement. I also have five Ellott timepieces all in cases of various types of wood. Myself I used to be a watch and clock maker and I agree the movements are so good and easy to work on. Thanks very much for the video.

We thank you for taking the tie to share your work and skills yes. We best enjoyed the clock-maker & watchmakers lathe. From two watchmakers in the high-desert of California we thank you again, Lance & Patrick.

My friend cleared out Elliotts when they shut down. I have no doubt you'll know Mark. Lovely quality clocks. I've restored and sold a lot of Elliott clocks. I specialised in English Fusee clocks only. I had a "actual" RAF sector clock by Elliotts. Out of the hundreds I have seen it was the only one I would put my name to as being authentic.

    Lovely video , thanks.
If I can pick your brain please….I have been given a1930s Smiths 8 day Ships clock by an elderly friend of mine , the number on the back of the movement is 288 , and the inside of the case has 227 written in pencil , the provenance is that it supposedly came from the engine room of HMS Achilles back in 1940 after she came back to Auckland NZ for repairs after the Battle of the River Plate . I was wondering if the numbers can be traced back to a manufacturing date or a sales register as it would be lovely to try and confirm the story . He got it from an Uncle who was in the Engineering crew for Achillies.
    Many thanks , Mike

Can anyone please tell me if a noisy ticking clock is a sign of needing a rehaul? I just got a beautiful vintage Elliott clock but it's so noisy - like a ticking bomb!

Hi, I have a Franz Hemle 341-021A wall clock and with the chimer turned on it randomly stops at 6.30, but if I turn off the chimer it's fine. Any idea what it could be please ?

My Elliot clock is broken, I think I over tensioned it. This is a long shot, but do you repair clocks for money and if so, would you be up for tackling another one?
