A friend of mine in the business, who got pretty technical about whisky investments, said that anyone today (2024) who has an unopened collection of any bottles of whisky, totalling around $20,000 USD, will likely be rich in 20 to 25 years. That sure caught my attention!
Great video. Since we don’t know the owner, any possibility of learning what this person originally invested to reach his $100,000, or how long it took? Cordially
Interesting that you brought up Single Cask Single Malt Whiskies😀 There are very very few and if anymore Single Cask Single Malt Whiskies that you can buy with a age statement of 10 years and over within the 60% to 69% abv bracket I'll take a guess that none of the Macallan which is on the table falls into any of the above. You can let me know on that one⛳ The Signatory Vintage Single Cask Single Malt Craigellachie 2012 Aged 11 Years is @ 68.2% abv is from Scotland🍑 Another Single Cask Single Malt Whisky called the Wave Aged 10 Years August 17th Titus Edition is @ 62% abv and is from Belgium🎂 They are the only two countries in the world that have them🍫🍬
There's the Ultimate, I've a 64% 14yo The Glenlivet and several high 50 low 60% Caol Ila's and other stuff from them. The Signatory Vintage series has quite some single cask and small batch things at 60+% which are easily available on the EU mainland, including their 17+yo (M) series which is single cask cask strength Macallan at 59ish%. It may be rare that anyone does it, but those doing it aren't hard to find and try to distribute widely.
@@0oDaan12o0 You can buy the Craigelichie Single Cask from Royal Mile Whiskies in Scotland which is on there website in which there is only a few left remaining and the Wave Titus Edition from Master of Malt which is also on there website. I've bottle 501 from 550. I don't how many is left. I've never seen The Glenlivet Aged 14 Years @ 64% abv anywhere for sale. I've also found a Single Cask Single Malt Whisky Aged 3 Years @ 70% abv. It's called the Belgian Owl and also from Belgium. It's on there website and I haven't seen it for sale anywhere at the moment. Its very young

What do you think about the Macallan folio series?
Any thoughts on The Cabrach Reopening and the Cabrach Collective?
Cordially.
Was this entire collection actually 100k? Retail on the countdown collection and Ardbeg 1965 alone would be somewhere around that figure.
Went to the first springbank millennium tasting in the UK. Held at Hallmark of st James' ans and I went to the second night. 35yo was the favourite
Great stuff. Eye opening.
