Cover 1 look could also be played as a Cover 3, especially if pressing. Madden lol In this case, the corners lining up on the inside helped indicate that it is Cover 1, rather than Cover 3.
Couldn't the first coverage also be 2 man under? Depending on down situation (3rd & 3, goal line etc)? Does that still fall under the correct answer of cover 2 because it's a variation?
I thought cover 2 but you’d also want to watch what the Mike does at the cadence and snap cos it could easily become a cover 3 hard flats variation surely?
Thank you for getting back to me appreciate that I have a grandson that's very talented but could use a little training on his form and footwork, will be the starting quarterback for his varsity football team he is a sophomore this year has a great arm an awesome dual threat runs a 4.5 ,40 very accurate on the run.
Hey I’m a Dt I weigh 200 and I’m 5’8 I was 235 I’ve Been trying to lose weight so I can play qb my junior and senior year is there any advice you have for me i also have some pretty good mechanics but there’s still things I’m working on and trying to work on
I had a similar issue back when I was in high school. I was 5’11 225 but benching well over 300 and both squatting and dead lifting over 500 including a squat of 520 thats still a school record today, last time I heard. My team needed me and my strength in the trenches on both sides. However I would always draw attention from anyone that was around while I was throwing the ball in gym class or messing around playing flag football or QBing a pickup 7 on 7 over the summer. We were in gym class one time out on the field in our stadium and I was throwing to the best player on our varsity team that was a RB/WR/KR (kid ran a 4.3 flat and was a major D1 recruit) on a go route torching other kids and I hit him perfectly in full stride. The ball traveled nearly 60 yards in the air and I placed it over his shoulder with perfect arc and velocity and he caught it as if I’d handed it off to him. I would make throws like that in the 60-65 yard range on the regular. Our long time defensive coordinator was teaching the class and just so happened to be sitting in the stands and saw that particular throw and he’d never seen me rip it before. He jumped up and said “WHO THREW THAT!!!???” I just raised my hand and said I did and then everyone sitting with him went to whispering and watching me the rest of the period. Our QB on the team was solid, reliable and a good leader but very small with nowhere near my arm strength. Sometimes I wonder had I fully committed to playing QB instead of living in the weight room to assert physical dominance over people, maybe I would’ve had a chance to QB our squad. Moral of the story, don’t waste any time. It goes by faster than you can ever imagine right now. Fully commit yourself to being the best QB you can be physically and mentally and when camp opens up next August, you can go out and let the chips fall where they may and then at least you’ll know for sure if you have what it takes.
Never played a down of tackle football in my life, just an avid football watcher… proud of myself going 2/2
Love to hear it 🤝
Appreciate you watching!
I got 2 out of 2 and I'm a long snapper. try to pay attention during film and watch it on my own time in case coach thinks of putting me at wr
Love to hear it! Thank you for watching the content
That’s the mentality 💪
need a new DC if you’re coming out in a 3 LB set against 4 receivers
Lol 😂 facts!
That's called playing like a man. Real football.
Nice Video! Can you also do videos for a bit more advanced coverages?
We have that content on our website! Here is the info below

No doubt! Thank you for watching
Never forget to bail if your the corner tho. Saw a guy get cooked once by a speed threat!
I wanna see more content like this since it's a nice vid and well explained. Thanks coach!
Will do! Thank you so much for the support

No problem at all man, really glad the content has been able to help you!
I got everything correct, damn my studies of film have been paying off :D Thank you Coach, blessings
Appreciate you my man, thank you for watching!

Yeah absolutely! That is correct
Thanks for this but what if it’s on a hash for cover 2 how would you read the safeties?
That’s a little tougher, I would look at their stance. Generally more of a back pedal stance
@ thank you! Your advice has helped me so much I doubt I’ll even make it to college but I get a better chance with your videos!!!
Thanks coach!
Anytime man, hope this was able to help!
I play football in canada so instead of it being 11on11, we do 12on12. So im not sure if those coverages apply to canadian rules 😭
I would say for sure different but similar in a lot of ways!
@@firstdowntraining yeah for sure
I guessed cover 3 ,what would be the difference of the ss , n w
Will make an updated video explaining this!
I thought cover 2 but you’d also want to watch what the Mike does at the cadence and snap cos it could easily become a cover 3 hard flats variation surely?
Yessir correct!
It'd be nice if you could come to the Twin Cities Minnesota for quarterback camp, or Eau Claire Wisconsin
Will be there next year! Thank you for the support

Maybe I’m dumb but why is that defense in Base against 10 personnel?
I got 1/2 I almost got the 1st one correct I said cover 4 only because the safeties were wide apart which fooled me 😂
😂no worries man, glad this could give you some value!
@@firstdowntrainingI’m at 1:47 and I’m saying 4-3 cover 2 man and I hope I’m right
Great quiz
Appreciate you bro thank you for watching!
2 high and 2 press is showing cover 2 man. It could obviously change post snap but thats whats being showed.
Generally in 2 man those two LBs are gonna show man coverage as well
Yep the backers apexed tells ya C2... Corners would be inside leverage if C2 Man
Cover 1 plays different leverages on receivers depending on the split of the WR. Vast majority of the time the backers would be playing outside trail
Will linebacker head up on slot receiver in man. That’s bbq chicken. That’s why I thought cov 3. Ion like that head up stuff 😂
😂appreciate you watching man!
@@firstdowntrainingYessirr 💪🏽
