      Can it be levelled properly? It seems always either facing a bit down, or a bit up.

    • @mkaView
      @mkaView ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Is is only me or did you also felt like there is a weird tension between the bricks when building the part of the Tallneck's head, I think it was around the 257 step in the instruction. It felt like an illegal connection is being made there and the bricks don't have enough space. So far I did not see anybody mention it and it felt really annoying during the assembly.

  • @aleksandrastvardauskas7288
    @aleksandrastvardauskas7288 ปีที่แล้ว +132

    I just wanted to point out that the head of the Tallneck should be horizontally leveled (as displayed on the box art) if the legs of the model are placed correctly. I didn't get it right from the first attempt and judging by the review Tiago didn't get it either, so if you have issues with leveling your head, the problem is in the leg position (move the legs a click or two on the joints).

    • @xXDaikanisXx
      @xXDaikanisXx ปีที่แล้ว +6

      so thats what it is, i also had this "issue" more like a uncomformity

    • @JRodonBricks
      @JRodonBricks ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks! This was hugely helpful! I managed to fix mine that was also not aligned.
      Typically you will have put it in a position that feels more natural and balanced when you have it standing alone.
      You just need to pull back the legs one or two clicks. It will feel weird and less balanced in the stand alone mode, but when you place it on the spot it looks good, and much more similar to the box art, with the chest more protruding.

    I wish more adult sets at this price range would come out. These are the kind of sets that got me back into Lego as an adult. Stuff in that $50- $300 range. Nowadays it feels like we're getting way more $500 sets that just feel like they're pricing some of us out

      Add to it the bigger prices for smaller markets (these sell for €100+ here), it becomes very depressing. I am waiting for mine to arrive, I ordered it on the German Amazon when it was €69, can't wait to build it.

    This is easily my favorite set of this year. Everything about it is so beautiful and detailed. The building experience was incredible and it was a great price. I really hope that this set leads to more PlayStation X LEGO sets. I’d like to see them continue with the Horizon sets or come out with sets based on other game IPs. I think a Ratchet and Clank set would be cool and Uncharted doesn’t seem out of the picture (since LEGO has tackled more mature IPs like Overwatch, Stranger Things, and obviously Horizon). Though, The 2 IPs that I’d want them to do are The Last of Us and God of War; it’s probably never gonna happen since they are violent and mature games, but I think they would be great since both Ragnarök and the HBO series are releasing soon.

    I really agree with the last point. They can make cheaper sets that are still great, yet lego seem to think adult equals big and expensive so insist on bigger and bigger. Kinda puts me off the hobby knowing that a lot of the decent stuff has an insane price, and even though if i really wanted, I could get most of them, it also becomes hard to justify spending so much on what are basically dust collecting models.

    • @schwartzy65
      @schwartzy65 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @chaostade4087
      @chaostade4087 ปีที่แล้ว

      it is very rare though for a 100 set to be that satisfying for an adult. Most 100 $ ones are not that impressive for adults. And adults would prefer to have 1 big set that can display than 3 small ones that would be awkward next to each other. I think that Tallneck is an exception (there are some other exceptions but its not the rule).

    Just built this set yesterday, it's incredible. Probably my favorite set since the Disney Castle. Just the fun of it tying in to a great Playstation game, it just feels so majestic overall. Pretty complex too. Incorporates some preI gotta agree the neck is one of my favorite elements too how the armor plates cascade down into the chest and the way it all fits together is so smart. To me, this is the perfect example of a set that looks amazing even if you don't care one bit about the source material. @hilliebert25 ปีที่แล้ว

    Huh, that issue with the traffic lights post is odd! I've not seen anyone mention it before and my own copy of the set doesn't have anything like it either. Maybe it's the alignment of the swirly twirly vine? Idk, it's intriguing though!
    I've never played the horizon games (though I'm planning to... and have been for the last 3 years at least :P) but this was a day 1 for me! So glad I got it right away cuz otherwise it might've dropped down the priority list in favor of some other releases like the Hydro Bounty which I only got last month and regret not getting much earlier. The tallneck is just an insane set tbh, it just doesn't look like a lego model from a few metres distance.

    The price I feel isn't that big of a plus considering the stock situation. I tried to get mine day one because I figured it wasn't going to be hugely popular, and Lego thought so too since my local LEGO store only got a couple in and were sold out in 45 minutes or so, before I even got through the line (it was also release day for a ton of star wars sets) I had to scour different stores/websites for several weeks before I even got the chance to order one.
    However if it becomes more abundant over time as long as it stays at that price it'll be good. But I suspect given other merchandise of the series, it'll only appear secondhand at a huge markup.

    Just finished it last night - the head was also slightly unlevel for me but after reading through the helpful tips here I was able to fix mine. Also wanted to point out that prior to building the set, the comments in the video about the traffic light put me on alert, but when I got to that part of the build I didn't have any issue with getting the traffic light to face the right direction. Not sure if it was an issue with the flexible piece in Tiago's set, but mine doesn't constantly snap back the way that is shown in the video.

    Tallnecks were first seen in Horizon Zero Dawn, the sequel is Forbidden West, just for clarification. Also, just out of curiosity, what type of education is required to work for lego's design department? Or what was your experience when you applied and the interviewing/portfolio reviewing process?

    • @billhoult3262
      @billhoult3262 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Obviously not who you wanted to answer, but as someone who has looked into this seriously myself, lego themselves say that education in product design (specifically toys) is preferred, but is not necessary if your portfolio is good enough. There is a fair bit of information online if you want to look into it further, good luck!

    Yo even if its once in a blue moon they DEFINITELY need to do more adult sets based off classic games or even movies etc

    I did not have that issue with the traffic light being displaced because of the long string piece

    Weird, the issues you have with the traffic light. Mine stays in place, and I can place it in any direction that it will stay there.
    Maybe some small defect in the size of one of the parts in the traffic light base that makes them too loose.

    On top, you can find this set at a sizeable discount basicly all the time here in Europe.
    You should have no problem buying it for 70€, which IMO is a great deal!

    Just a minor correction (not the first time I heard someone say it) I would've said the Horizon games. Tallnecks are in both games.

    Have you tried using thin teflon tape (the kind used for plumbing) to add slight friction to the pieces to keep the traffic light from turning?

    LOL, You did it wrong :D the Head has to be perfectly HORIZONTAL (pun accidental :) - its a AWACS radar, it wont work properly at an angle. You can achieve it only by rotating entire body using the upper leg joints - it actually took me some time to find proper configuration and it should be better explained in the manual :)

    I just built this yesterday, and I gotta say, it's interesting how they snuck in a potentially illegal building technique. Blink and you'll miss it, but if you look carefully during the process, you'll see where some pieces need to be forced a little to fit in.
    Hint: it's in the head.
