- I was debating whether or not to post this but I figured hey, what the heck.
I've been archiving some of my old VHS tapes to DVD and I've been having fun recreating some of the unsung heroes (or, to some, villlains) of that era: the bumpers that went in-between the previews at the start-and sometimes, the end-of each videotape. Here is a collection of just about all of them I've made. I have NOT used all of them, nor will I probably plan on.
WARNINGS & INTROS
1. 1984 BV Red-Orange Warnings (Recreation)
2. Blue Visualock Warning V.1
3. Blue Visualock Warning V.2 (New Generation)
4. Visualock Warning - Crown Jewel

7. Visualock Warning - Black Beauty
8. Visualock Studios Logo (seen at the end of all programs)
9. Visualock Studios Intro - Montage (NOT USED)
10. Visualock Studios Intro - Montage, WDHV Version (NOT USED) (By the way, the music track, "On the Money" by Killer Tracks, was actually used by [The] Disney Channel for various channel promos and IDs in the early '90s.)

This is like a tribute to the great VHS. I collect Disney videos, and this video makes me feel at home.
I guess you could say it is! Thank you so much for the comment. I really appreciate it :)
The nostalgia here. I cant say much more
Great video I love these recreations of old vhs bumpers from way back when
Visualock as a whole seems like a great joint venture specialty company kind of like Columbia house (in a way) magnetic video rhino ( in a way) and phototmat (again in a way since photomat liscnced their rental tapes through paramount and Disney for their photomat stops)
It probably could have been something along those lines, the way I first thought about the idea and executed it in this video. :)
This video turns 12 years old this year. I technically first saw this in 2013, but I thought this was real cool (I still do!) and thus, part of me wanted to check out your other content... cue my 13-year-old self's sense of humor being permanently changed :P But still, your poops have meant so much to me over the years, and to this day so many of your jokes still roam around in my head and have even been spread to my friends. Thank you for NextG Poop and all of the videos you've created over the years.
You're very welcome and thank you!! Glad to know these videos have done that much for you. :D
Glad you asked! It's "Team Challenger" by Keith Mansfield from the 1983 album "Contact" (KPM 1304). I added it to the description just now. :)
There was a brief period when I was *somewhat* scared by it, but those days are over now. Glad I could bring back some memories for ya :)
Scared of what? The Walt Disney Home Video Logo? I'm still scared by it lol!
Btw that Walt Disney home video logo you’ve made is what Disney should have used like around 95 or 96 to replace the 1986 sorcerer Mickey logo
Anyway, I like the way how you did those fan-made logos, I've liked and favorited the two videos.
Hmm. I could certainly get on some of those suggestions and create a new video once I find some more time :)
Never would have thought FBI warnings and "feature presentation" logos and fanfares would offer such a miserable nostalgia trip.
I have a love/hate relationship with DVD's and VHS's alike, but I think I had more love than hate for the video tapes.
Man, how did you all of this from 2012? This is truly amazing to see. Mostly, how did you do the 3d looking text from "FEATURE PROGRAM" and "FEATURE PRESENTATION" part?
I just did it five years ago, really. Thank you!
And the 3D text was done using the Boris Title 3D plugin for Final Cut Pro 7.
Hmmm... I wonder if Boris Title 3D is for vegas to.
To my knowledge it is, but the only way you can currently get something close is by purchasing Boris' Continuum 3D Objects unit (which isn't too cheap) or the larger Continuum package (which is even less cheap). The version I got came with FCP, and naturally a lot has changed in those years.
Very nice! These look like great remakes of the originals as well as pretty good unofficial spinoffs of the IDs of the time.
Most of these were made in Final Cut Pro; the Visualock CGI logo was created in Cinema 4D.
Yeah, most likely a joint venture company. As some of the videos I'm archiving are Paramount and Warner Bros. they may also have stakes in the venture or license their titles accordingly.
It refers to the typeface used in the bumper. 1991 is the year the bumper would have been created in.
Would an example from one of your DVD’s ever make it to this channel? I’d love to see how the new bumpers are spliced
Won't say definitely, at least as far as YT goes (because we all know how they can be sometimes about this kind of thing), but never say never.
Totally forgot about those! Oh well, next time. :)
How did you make those logos appear on the space BG?
It's just a simple luma key effect, which is available in most good non-linear editing programs. :)
Mostly using Final Cut Pro (pre-version X). Some bumpers used the Boris 3D Title plug-in, which I believe was included with my version of the program.
The Visualock logo was created in Cinema 4D.
If Visualock Studios was an actual company, it would be a joint venture between Walt Disney Home Video, MGM/UA Home Video, Columbia TriStar Home Video and CBS/Fox Video, wouldn't it? If it was a real company, it would be jointly owned by the four studios or more studios like Paramount, Warner Bros. and Universal and it would become probably a DVD/Blu-ray distributor for their titles.
How Did You Make This?
@MarioDash2000 Thank you!
I don't know if you're getting this but THE STUPID REPLY BUTTON ISN'T WORKING DARN YOU TH-cam/GOOGLE AAAARGH
I might if I ever (have time to) do a Part 3... :)
@NextG What is the music used at 6:39?
I don't have an ID for the actual music yet, but that bumper's audio was extracted directly from the 1998 VHS release of LADY AND THE TRAMP.
Can You Do Making Of The Visualock Studios Logo?
It's just a fictitious name I use for my archived video collection (see disclaimer at beginning/end of this video).
Awesome
5:57 And now for our Feature Presentation.
And Now From AnimationEpic, Our Feature Presentation "Inanimate Insanity!"
You made DVD versions of the 1991 handwriting Feature Presentation ids for Disney.
Yeah, I guess you could call them that. :)
I manipulated the videos using Final Cut Pro, the same program that I used to edit this together. :)
Thanks so much! :)
I've been planning to just re-upload the whole program as one. The reason why it was taken down was, I think, that someone (or some bot) had trouble with the numerous tags I had in the video description-I don't do that anymore, but I did that quite a bit in the old days. That's the only time I've had a problem with something of that nature.
I'm not sure if that's one I'll be able to replicate. I'll see what I can do.
"On the Money" by Killer Tracks, from "60s, 30s, 15s Volume 1" (KT28).
Also used by prevue channel ident from 1994
5:34 And Now For Our Feature Presentation
Thank you very much! :)
No problem, man! ;)
Not bad! Thanks for sharing :)
Did you ever dub these bumpers onto your old tapes?
No, these are only on the DVD versions I made. I might dub some of these to a blank tape just to see how they'd look, but other than that I haven't considered anything like that.
I will use some of these logos for my own fake VHS openings, including Opening to The Rocky Horror Picture Show 2000 VHS (Visualock Studios Print) and Opening to Britt Allcroft's Magic Adventures of Mumfie 2001 VHS (Visualock Studios Print)
You're probably the only one that actually told me before using them, so I appreciate that. :)
NextG These Visualock Bumper Samplers are perfect! I will use them for my fanmade VHS openings, like, the Opening to Max Fleischer's Popeye The Sailor Man 1998 VHS (Visualock Studios Print), the Opening to Goofy's Funny Days 1997 VHS (Visualock Studios Print), the Opening to The Invisible Man 1998 VHS (Visualock Studios Print), the Opening to the Double Feature Retro Stuff 1998 VHS (Visualock Studios Print), and of course, the Opening to Drink Me 1998 VHS (Visualock Studios Print), with my customized Drink Me bumpers with the announcer saying something in form of a commercial for a soft drink.
Sam Webster
Wow, that's quite a lot!!
5:13 What is that taken from?
I didn't make it, in case you were wondering. Mike Cothren did.
Join us after the feature is a variant of Lady and the Tramp
Yep, the audio is from that VHS.
NextG Is This A Real Or A Fake.
The bumper is fake. In fact, most of this video is.
NextG And What Music Is That Visualock Studios Music Is?
Not sure which music you're talking about. Most of the Visualock bumpers here use "Team Challenger" as specified in the video description.
For the first bumper, you made a DVD Version of Disney 1984:warning.
That's correct. :)
Bill Thompson 2
Good job!
Thank you :)
Shapes and lines version of feature program logo is the remake of the 2000's
Actually, that bumper was an original idea not related to the 2000s bumpers (and uses audio from a '90s bumper). But I guess it does look somewhat similar in the movement.
Think of it as a prototype. To me, it looks like the same logo, but with the Navy Blue background from the 1992 VHS of The Rescuers.
Wow.
Though, admittedly, they can be.
What is the Shapes And Lines bumper based on?
Just generic 1990s styling; no existing bumpers or specific visuals in particular.
Interesting. It looks like something that might be used on an actual tape!
I appreciate you saying that! Thank you very much!
You're welcome!
It's all good :)
What Is The Music On The Logo
To answer all your recent questions:
I created this logo in Cinema 4D, a program I no longer use (I use the similar program Maya instead nowadays). The music on the Visualock bumpers, as stated in the description, is "Team Challenger" by Keith Mansfield from the 1983 album "Contact" [KPM 1304].
NextG Well, What About The Visualock Studios Logo And Not The Video Cube Thing?
SuperLenny1975
Same piece, just a different version. Hope that helps :)
+NextG That almost just sounded different like the music from Back to The Future over the 3D Bumpers & Promos
@@nextg This Is All About Scary Logos, They At Got Kids Scared Into The Run, After the Heart Attack Hospital Doctor!
Are the bumpers real?
No, none of these bumpers are real or have been actually used in any way.
Oh, okay. I thought it was an actual company. My bad!
Can you do a Green Warning next?
Later on... Walt Disney Home Video would become Walt Disney Home Entertainment, MGM/UA Home Video would become MGM Home Entertainment, Columbia TriStar Home Video would become Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, and CBS/Fox Video would become 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

How did you do make all of these logos?
I know this is a 11 year old video, but can I tell you the black blue font is actually called ITC Clearface?
You are correct, the font used in the original bumpers is in fact Clearface. I just didn't have that at the time I originally made this.
@@nextg Well, hopefully one of these days that video needs to be updated.
You could've also make "Coming Soon on Video and DVD" 1999 logo, the gold 1989 Feature Presentation logo, and others.
Another thing you forgot is the 1991 BV Green FBI Screens.
