(NSMBW) 2-2 True Jumpless [TAS]

- Hello everyone ! After the small break last week, we're back to tackle World 2 !
What wonderful tricks and techniques will we discover here ?
You'll see ;)
Im starting the world with 2-2 and not 2-1 because it seemed easier. I'll maybe go back to do 2-2 but for now I'll continue with 2-3 next.
This level is pretty straight forward, the only tricky part was the elevator with the koopas, where I had to keep Boad bouncing on Luigi to avoid getting killed by the koopas.
Also, there's a section where I have to dodge spike balls on multiple layers. Fortunately, I can stall by waiting near Spike for the next bubble to come.
Also I can't believe y'all actually guessed Yoad would finish the level. This level was TASed before the poll and I didn't modify it afterwards, you guys are just this good.
And you are all awesome for watching my videos, thanks a lot.
that hole near the platform where you needed every living player for it to activate was really convenient
I think that there would have been no better logical way for them to code it, in multiplayer this way players can catch up with eachother, while also making sure that having a dead player with 0 lifes won't prevent the platform from starting
@@GregFRDT i was never saying there was, of course that was the best way to have the platform work, i was just mentioning how convenient for this challenge it was that they decided to put a hole next to it
@@eugenekrabs141 I'd like to point out that i'm just having fun trying to overhink the game/level design to try and explain how some things ended up being the way they are. If you read better my first comment you can clearly see that it in fact is not conflicting in any meaningful way with your original comment, so in that situation i don't see why you'd need to reply like this.
Also the hole is there probably to make sure that a previous red koopa shell doesn't bounce left and right inside a tight space, thus making sure that the level would be more acessible for inexperienced players.
Now, it's time to put a conclusing opinion that might not conform with your original opinion: Technically he probably doesn't really need the hole in the fist place because if there was no hole he could have just grabbed the koopa shell as a hazard instead.
So the real situational root convenience here technically is inevitably the red koopa and multiplayer mechanics happening at the same place, the hole is probably just a side effect of the koopa existing in the first place, because as we hypotised earlier, it's simply there to make the level more accessible, if the koopa wasn't there, there likely wouldn't be any hole in that part of the level.
@@GregFRDT i wasent trying to argue with you either, i was just saying that i wasent denying that
@@eugenekrabs141 Then i apologise, because i percieved differently your need of making that first reply.
May i ask then... What was its end goal?
1:08 toad slowly and remorselessly pushing mario off a cliff made my day
*Yoad
And then jumping in himself after a moments hesitation
he simply was having a mental breakdown
"Hey Mario! Why are we not moving? What do you mean a cliff?...
Oh god.. What have I done?
What have I done?
What have I done?
What have I done?
Mario...
I am...
no, I can't. I cant live with the knowledge I was the one who killed him.
* sobs *
I AM SO SORRY MAAA..." (scream slowly fades out as Toad falls into infinite void)
I know this is a TAS but I like to imagine it's just four buddies that are exceptionally well-coordinated
At this point they wouldn't be just friends they would be family
3:47 Mario just barely avoided death.
Mario won by doing nothing???
It looked like a paper-mario-style block
Spike used spikeball!
Mario used Charisma Guard,
Mario blocked the attack. Spike take 1644 damage! Spike passes out!
0:46 Having mario ground pound so he would pause midair for luigi to bounce off him was so smooth.
It was in time with the music along with the spike’s throw
0:38 that pop chain was very satisfying
Same thoughts
I know right
It also kinda synced with the music and built up to the “bah”
for anyone wondering why we're starting with 2-2 instead of 2-1, world 2 in nsmbw starts off with a split path and 2-2 was probably easier
I would like to see him attempt all levels, so I hope he'll go back to 2-1 later.
@@mag1cman777
I believe he already said previously he will.
indeed, 2nd section of 2-1 must be super tedious and complicated
2-1 looks kinda nightmarish for something like this lol
"ill maybe go back to do 2-2"
the section at 1:20 was awesome, sickest koopa plays of the year
FR THAT STRAT WAS SO SMOOTH
He has clearly spent hours stomping… koopas
@@darthadipose1920 xD
Desert slopes are going to be a lifesaver hopefully. I’m pretty sure you can frame perfect jump on people on slopes. Can’t remember how, unfortunately. It involves two separate slope angles though.
Yellow toad is a cold-hearted killer, pushing mario into the pit and staring into luigi's eyes as he forced him off screen
3:45 mario's life flashes before his eyes
Yellow toad managed to save Mario just in time! Truly one of the best movie plots of our generation
But he also pushed him down a bottomless pit.
The most satisfying thing out of these videos are their descriptions.
Ahhh what will the strategy be today?
EDIT: That whole thing was siiiiiiick. You never cease to amaze me with the strats.
I feel like the amount of unnecessary swag is increasing as this series goes on and I am all here for it.
The seamless dodging of the spike balls is so satisfying.
Spike is such a THREAT.
Nothing like takin a good spikeball to the fac- *end level
if you go frame by frame Mario is TOUCHING the spike ball when the level ends!
way to go. im loving this series. mario was a frame or 2 away from death at the end, crazy
What in the random 3am video am I watching right now
And why does my tired self find it so entertaining
TASes like this are always a treat to watch.
the speed of which this one is done certainly shows your improvement in mastery of this games mechanics
Holy shit the plot twist at the end where Mario braced for death just to be saved by toad was so beautiful
2:02 Luigi-chan dropkick!
2:13 Yellow-toad dropkick!
2:37 3:45 Charisma guard!
I still can't believe all the spike ball avoiding strats
Mario just got saved by the bell at the end wow
Probably the only series in which I've looked forward to seeing the next episode
God this video is an ASMR experience
I just realized it may be impossible to beat the entire game like this because if the rising volcano level in world 8. You couldn’t go around it because the roller coaster would require a lot of jumping in a row
That may be true :(
Mario's death was in sync with the music at 0:21 and I lost it
In your description: *I’ll maybe go back to do 2-1 but”
when i was a wee lass and played this game with my cousins, one cousin would always play yellow toad, and he was the best at the game. that's why i voted for yellow toad.
that koopa management was cool
Keep going! I love seeing the progression of skill/brainstorming represented in these levels
Man these are so interesting to watch in this level things just seemed to be timed so you succeeded right away which was just really cool
FLAGPOLE TOTALS:
Mario: 1
Luigi: 2 (+1 secret)
Yellow Toad: 2
Blue toad: 1
BOSS KILLS:
Mario: 0
Luigi: 0
Yellow Toad: 0
Blue toad: 1
I wonder if the poll had any influence on this... Nope, just read the description!
The amount of uppies in coordination never ceases me to amaze me, even as a TAS
that's a lot of conveniently placed slopes to do a running slide to take out all those Spikes
The spikes had to roll their ball somewhere
._. Speechless this is insane bro the dedication jeez
nice, a new level done jumpless
also, congrats Yoad!
Biblically accurate Koopa
3:45 Tensest moment in any anime be like
Shout out to all of us who predicted yellow toad
The amount of teamwork is very impressive to me
1:10 toad: go die mario! .... WHAT HAVE I DONE *he suicides*
That koopa monster is terrifying
this man is an absolute LEGEND
As someone who has never even considered making a TAS, I would be interested to know how long each of these (and each part) takes to make
My bets probably like 2-3 hours per level.
@@HiddenBush64 it takes way longer than that
@@slowwy do you TAS yourself or something. I’m not sure myself but Im just assume it could take like an hour of planning ideas and then 1-2 of executing them. Keeping in mind that this person is well beyond experienced, and the fact that this isn’t a speed run, it seems reasonable to me. However, as I said I know nothing about TAS’ing so it’s all just an educated guess
@@HiddenBush64 it takes way longer than that
@@HiddenBush64 Definitely would take longer yeah. They have to not only plan out every step but also put in each input necessary and redo segments that don’t go how they hoped, reiterating on it til they get that successful run. A lot of things are also discovered when making it so a lot of the initial planning might get thrown out once they’re actually implemented
When this game is done jumpless someone needs to do a story about their friendship
*we don’t talk about 2-1*
I just noticed that the timer stops during the death animation of a player and starts againg only when the dead player goes offscreen. It will maybe be usefull to gain time in 1-tower for example (but I know time isn't the only problem in this level). Did you already knew about that?
blue toad actually helping what
Can't wait to see where this goes!
3:47 Mario was saved
This is underated
THE KOOPA MONSTER
Excited to see the crazy tactics!
That’s insane bro
I love this little series, can't wait to see where it goes
YES, I WAS RIGHT ON THE POLL, YELLOW TOAD DOES IT
what happened to 2-1?
2-2 seemed easier
“NSMBW but I destroyed the B Button”
mario got lucky at the end there
Yoad reigns supreme!
1:54 jukes
I can't wait for the bowser fight
I fear what the wind is going to do haha.
You have an error in the description. It says “I’ll go back to finish 2-2” instead of 2-1
Stomping…..KOOPAS
god damn i love this series so much.
Death count info- There were 22 deaths in this level, and there have been 181 deaths so far. (Subject to potential future TAS improvements)
Sigma male behaviour
Yoaders fucking win! I never doubted!
Imagine the whole game jumpless
How my parents went to school
Sacrifices had to be made
was really hoping for all of the levels to be done in order jumpless
3:47 ...mario?
Did you try asking Spike for a mini mushroom?
FISHY BOOPKINS!!!
It would be epic if you get jumpless 1-mid-castle
I love these!!!
You can just shove the Spikes out of the way? I thought you had to stomp them!
Nicely done
GG
Another interesting thing to see, I think, would be how many levels are still doable after resuming from each checkpoint
54 seconds ago? I’ve never been this early.
same
These are my favorite fucking things
Error in the description: it says you'll maybe go back to 2-2 and opposed to 2-1.
can't believe this game ripped off super mario maker 2
boad has 69 lives at the beginning nice
Why don’t you make use of the mushroom houses and items?
Is this how elephants play Nsmbw?
Very cool
2-2 moment
what about 2-1?
2-2 seemed easier
Why is shaking not allowed
Bravo Vince
the Koopabomination
I really like this lol
@@adealtas did not expect a reply so quickly, much less from the creator
@@RainMarrlen I happen to have notifications enabled, so yeah this can be quick when I'm online ;)
@@adealtas by the way, do you ever plan on doing TJC/UJC in NSMBU? I feel like that could be pretty interesting, especially with the dreaded screws being non-mandatory (from what I recall they're only in 2-Tower)
@@RainMarrlen The problem is that there are no tasing tools for nsmbu. You can't even find an any% tas on youtube. So there's no way for me to do that challenge either
Cool🤣
Epic
