Another few tips from my experience with the trios software
At the tooth marking if you put the dot exactly on the margin it will be shown Better after post processing
- when scanning a bite and its not aligning it or snapping on the upper or lower , you have two tricks
While keeping the patient at the same bite just turn the scanner off mid bite scan and turn it on , if that doesn't work just keep focusing on upper for an example then tell the patient to slightly open his mouth and try to scan the buccale of the lower and slowly go the occlusion surface it will snap on almost immediately ( but thoroughly check the bite integrity after processing)
- the most advance scan is when you have a crown and a screw retaind crown ( Implant) just set the imppant as crown and take everything while keeping the healing abutment on , after checking every margin of the crown and clearance you can make a copy and edit the order to change it to screw retaind then trim the healing abutment, scan the emergency profile and the scan body - that's how you get the most accurate scan as any modification will make you lose the scan body segment and you have to rescan it or you just lose some accuracy
- when scanning a bite that is only on a old crown (lifted bite) you put the crown the scan the other side - this keeps the intended lifted bite and you can turn off adjust for contact if needed*
