Love, Actually at Kabare Girls High School

In becoming a young woman, love and relationships significantly affect how we feel about ourselves, how we relate to others, and create expectations, and aspirations. Commonly in African homes and contexts, love isn't something people express to each other. Some mothers and fathers are estranged and only engage in a very formal manner. Kisses and hugs by family members are a phenomenon seen in movies and shows. So bring in dating and crushes, those are a HUGE NO to even thinking or talking about well until you're done with college and all the aunties and your mum's friends start asking " When are you getting married?"
At Growth Through Learning, we believe in candid conversations and aimed to explore mindsets that our scholars have about love and relationships as well as just freely discuss.
