I could not wait till the end of this video to write my comment: you made this difficult rule so clear! My Belgian school insists on speaking only Nederlands, so I never understood what do they really mean, I had to memorise!! Now I get it. your secret formula is comparing with the English language then displaying many examples, well done. Dank U wel.
this was so helpful! thankyou! It gave me time to listen to your explanation and then apply my knowledge by working out the questions. Keep up the great work!
Dankjewel! Correct, gegeven doesn't follow the rules, so therefor it is irregular. Unfortunately there are quite some of those stubborn irregular verbs that don't to follow our rules, haha.
Thank you, I'm from Ireland learning Dutch, your explanations are very clear and accurate. Just one question. What are the best Dutch news stations to listen to?
@@cleardutchgrammar8904 Bedankt voor je hulp, ik zal naar dat radiostation luisteren. Je bent trouwens heel mooi, heb je een vriendje? Ik was in Januari in Amsterdam, we hadden elkaar kunnen ontmoeten voor een kopje thee of koffie en een praatje.
The verb 'doen' is irregular. It conjugates like this: PRESENT TENSE: ik doe hij doet wij doen PAST PARTICIPLE gedaan (Example sentence: "Ik heb niets gedaan.")
"I have worked" and "I worked" are used in different situations in English because they have different nuances. Is it the same between "ik heb gewerkt" and "ik werkte" ?
Deze heb ik nog niet. Learning irregulars is mostly memorizing, I'm afraid. If you look at the list of irregulars, you can see some verbs working in a similar way, so it can help to try to put them into groups according to your own logic. Hope that helps. 😬
Your way of explaining is very helpfull . You should make more videos . And also if you can one day make a video about how to use the Wq+ever of english into dutch . I would be very thankfull. Because it is hard to find about that on youtube. You can take( whatever ) you want (Whoever )went there is fine by me You can choose (wichever) you want I know already how to use wie ) hoe wanneer etc but not the ones of the english language with wq + ever . Thanks for this video though
I guess it depends on the student and their language background which of those is easier to remember. The x is indeed missing in Soft Ketchup. In my lessons I just mention it, but normally at level B1 the only verb with an x that comes up is 'mixen'. ;)
Aren’t you gonna tell wor how and why for some of a few of wor past particles in Dutch make wor use “zijn”? Like if I wanna say; “I’ve been to Gateshead” Why is it; “Ik ben naar Gateshead geweest”? Is it because it IS “to be” that’s I’ve been to Gateshead? XD You’ve heard of Gateshead before haven’t you? Newcastle’s Southern neighbour across the river Tyne! XD And I’m from Sunderland! XD
I was thinking of doing a separate video about that, but in the end it actually comes down to memorizing a list of verbs that always take zijn and a few other cases.. so I'm not yet sure what to do with that to be honest. :p
Echt een goed overzicht waarin veel concepten in 15 min uigelegd worden. Graag bedankt.

Wat leuk om te horen! How nice to hear! :) Dat klopt. That is correct. Het kan helpen om het contrast te zien met het Engels. :)
I'm so lucky I found your channel. I've learned this subject summarily thanks to you.
Hoi Halil, dat is heel cool om te horen. :)
I just discovered your channel by coincedence and it has helped me soooo very much please do more of this .

Heel erg bedankt!
Dankje für deze les. Please keep making them!!
Will try.. just made a new one. :)
What is the mnemonic in Dutch to remember to use T as the end of the particle? Soft ketchup or another?
I use SoFT KeTCHuP, but there are also some books that use 't ex-kopschip. I think that's much more difficult to remember, haha.
God, you are so good..
Can you please do videos on active passive and er?
Dat is een goed idee. Ik ben nu nog bezig met A2 en B1 onderwerpen, maar daarna is dit een goede optie.
thank you so much it's so helpful
but I have a question : what about "gegeven"
Dankjewel!
Correct, gegeven doesn't follow the rules, so therefor it is irregular. Unfortunately there are quite some of those stubborn irregular verbs that don't to follow our rules, haha.
@@cleardutchgrammar8904 wow the question was one year ago.
Ik spreek al goed nederlands 😂
But thank you a lot anyway.
thanks

Dankjewel, Jess. Bedoel je radiozenders? Heb je 100% al geprobeerd? Dan hoor je alleen maar muziek van Nederlandse bodem.
100% NL

What is the difference in the word "doen" it translates to gedaan without t/d
The verb 'doen' is irregular. It conjugates like this:
PRESENT TENSE:
ik doe
hij doet
wij doen
PAST PARTICIPLE
gedaan
(Example sentence: "Ik heb niets gedaan.")

thanks for the help jongeen
Haha, graag gedaan! Maar ik ben geen jongen (boy). :p Ik ben een vrouw. ;)
Engel alleen maar correct/ juist antwoord geef Aub, Namelijk als ik weet wat nauwkeurig-oplossing is dan kan ik automatisch de rest herkennen, toch?
"I have worked" and "I worked" are used in different situations in English because they have different nuances. Is it the same between "ik heb gewerkt" and "ik werkte" ?
Hoi Mochela, ja, dat klopt. That goes for all verbs. The use of the different past tenses is not the same in English as in Dutch.
Geachte mevrouw Ilka. Hebt u de
perfectum irregular verbs video? Ik denk u de verleden tijd heel goed uitlegt!

hello i think leef ------geleeft f in soFt ketchup thank you soooo much very cleaer
For leven we look at the V of leven, so it will be geleefd. ;) The same happens with the z-s change: reizen: ik heb gereisd.
I think " 't sexy fokschaap" would be easier to remember than Soft Ketchup and it gives you the x too (used in imported verbs).
I guess it depends on the student and their language background which of those is easier to remember. The x is indeed missing in Soft Ketchup. In my lessons I just mention it, but normally at level B1 the only verb with an x that comes up is 'mixen'. ;)
