This knife sounds like right up my alley. Women's hands are smaller (for the most of us) and this sounds like worth looking in to. Thank you.

I love the Bushlore and the Mini. That was a great tip from will on twisting the knife out to make room for the next feather when you are cutting them thick! Cool vid. Glad to see a Condor getting some positive publicity. There's too many knife snobs out there dissing these great value blades.

I have two of these. By far my favorite knife. At first I was sure it was too small but soon realized it was perfect. Its the only knife I carry on me, had it for 3 yrs now. The size works great on my hip. Did not much like the sheath, a bit bulky for the size. I was able to slim it sprofile by reusing a old letterman carrier, worked out great.

C2G FAB makes a great kydex neck sheath for the Bushlore Mini at a pretty reasonable price as well.

I've got that sheath - it is great. Unfortunately Gary is taking a hiatus from the sheath making business. He's let his web domain expire - so who knows if he will ever start up again.

I just got the Condor bushlore last week. Like you I wasn't really interested at first but your video on it leaned me into pulling the trigger and buying it. It's probably my new favorite now. The sheath is awesome but I like the idea of kydex. You don't gotta worry about kydex soaking up water. Now do you think having a kydex sheath dulls the edge of the blade enough that it's a problem? (Every time you take it out and put back in the sheath) I've heard people complain about the BK2 sheath dulling that blade.

    Now on my wish list.
Now that I use hand axes and fold away saws for all of my wood prep, I'm finding that my main knife (Mora and SWC Bushlore) are a bit redundant, but I still want a blade on my person while hiking. This little bushy ticks all the boxes for me.

Will just described the #1 reason I'm such a big fan of brightly colored knife handles & lanyards. They're harder to lose!!!
I think I'm going to have to take a close look at that Mini-Bushlore. When I'm in the woods I always carry one of two knife combos. I'll either have something like a Pathfinder Trade Knife on my belt as my primary bushcraft knife and then something small like a Tops MSK around my neck for things like food prep & other small tasks, or I'll have a large survival knife like BK7 on my belt and a smaller bushcraft knife like a Mora Companion as my neck knife. I'm not sure which of those two the Mini Bushlore could replace (maybe both?), but it's definitely caught my attention!

Chris, have you thought about making your own kydex sheaths? I purchased a small kit and now I make my own sheaths. They dont take more than 1 to 2 hours to make with the right tools. Kydex is very easy to work with once it gets hot. Especially for simple jobs like what you are showing, you can make a sheath for a neck knife in 30 min.

    • @bushcraftjunkie2777

Hi Neil, just a by-the-by, I use BALLISTOL OIL, made in Germany. It neutralises contact from bare hands, protects wood, leather and metals. Otherwise Linseed oil... All the best.

I've been a subscriber awhile and appreciate all the info in your videos. I'm sure lots of folks ask you to review other knives, but I'll ask anyway. Any plans to review EnZo knives from Finland? I stumbled across them on Lamnia of Finland website and bought a Trapper, which is little bigger than the mini-bushlore. It is a superb knife. Also, any plans to review real kukri knives from Nepal or the Condor version?
    Thanks

I thought I'd like this thing more than I do. I was really excited when I got it but the edge rolls really easy. It came with the secondary bevel and the blade was warped very slightly toward the tip which makes sharpening the tip inch or so just about impossible. I tried bringing it down to a true scandi and that rolled even worse. I guess it's a matter of getting what you pay for. I've never had a Condor or 1075 before. I think it's time to just get a LTWK Patriot and be done with it. Give this thing to my son when he gets a little older since I already got my daughter a mora HD.

I have the Bushlore, and the Bushlore mini. I love the Bushlore, but I was very disappointed in the mini. I have huge hands, believe me when I say huge, I can't get three fingers on it. I was hoping it was a full size handle with a shorter blade, but unfortunately it wasn't. My youngest son has a new knife now. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinion on this blade reviewed, I appreciate it sir.

    It's been 10yrs now ...
They have 1095hc steel yet still use the 1075hc for this blade but don't. If they added a quarter inch to that handle and 1095hc the mini Bushlore would be on my neck day 1.
Better yet make it with a plastic rubberized grip and plastic sheath as a competitor to the Eldris .

Handle is too short. A perfect handle length is a full 4 fingers with XL glove sized hands regardless of blade length. Silly me, I am just not a fanboy of plastic firearms, sheaths, or holsters.

Just wanted to offer my two cents on an issue that I had with my full-size Bushlore, and which might afflict the Mini: when I first got the knife the edge was very delicate, even when used for reasonable wood carving. I found that it would easily roll AND chip, even though I wasn't using it to pry or twist as Will does in this video. I'm not sure if mine had a bad heat treatment, or if it was just too low an edge angle for the steel. In any event, I convexed the edge a bit more using the worksharp--maybe three or five degrees inclusive--and that solved the issue of premature edge degradation completely. Just figured I'd share, in case anyone else experiences a similar issue. Thanks for the vid, Chris!
