Just changed my screen after it didnt respond to my touch at all. Couldnt even calibrate it anymore. Now it works 100%. Very good demonstration. My device is now 12 years old and I hope it will last another 12 years with this new screen!
Thanks RepairMyDevice, I was able to buy an OEM screen (Part ID 2000494-14) from the UK on eBay and have it posted to Australia. Problem seemed to be in the touchscreen element. Garmin Zumo fully repaired and working perfectly on my Triumph Trophy SE.
I have a Zumo 390lm that was connected on the moto cradle with 12V(instead of 5). Since then it charges ONLY from the usb port and works as it must but it does not charge from the moto cradle(it now is installed normally with 5V.) Probably the power chip is damaged! Please could you show me how to disassemble and fix it and the type(code name) of chip?? Also if I take two leads from the cradle connectors of the device straight to the power +/- of the usb(pins 1 and 5} will it "see" it as it comes from a usb cable and charge normally? Thanks in advance!
After replacing the battery and connecting the screen cable, I notice the picture has a blue cast. I have tried reseating the cable in the connector several times but I cannot remove the blue tint from the white areas on the screen. Any ideas please?
Hey @RepairMyDevice Do you know if the Zumo 390LM and the newer version Zumo 395LM have the exact same screen? I have one of both, one with a defective screen and another with a working screen, can I just swap them? Thanks
Do you use genuine Garmin screens for these repairs? I bought a screen on eBay and replaced it as you did in this video but the quality is nothing like the original!

Hello, you probably damage the ribon of the lcd, you need to check it under microscope.

They use different version you need to open and check.
