I actually had the privilege to speak with Mike a couple times. He’s a great guy and I really support the company. I got Musio for $299 and it was completely worth it. I’m super excited for their future and I really hope more people pick up Musio and give it a shot - it’s great value!

Musio is one of the best values in sample libraries today. Started with the sub and then bought Musio 1 earlier this year. So much content for the price - something from Musio makes it into just about every cue that I write!

Why do I get the sense every time I watch an interview with Mike that he is one of the nicest persons on the planet? I admire his talent and tenacity with all he and his team have done with Cinesamples and Musio (yes I'm a subsriber). I hope someday I'll get to meet this great guy!

I am a big Musio fan, especially with the massive selection of instruments, hobbyist-friendly pricing, and the ability to audition individual samples and only download the ones you need. Thanks, Chris, for this fascinating look into Mike's background and the evolution of Cinesamples and Musio.

I became interested in film scores after watching the TV miniseries Roots, in 1977, in which composers Fried and Jones transform the theme to fit the time period as the show moves forward from past to present. Then in 1979, Basil Poledouris wrote great stand-alone compositions evoking ancient times for the vignette-like scenes of Conan the Barbarian. Now I was hooked! From then on I saw film as a vehicle for musical expression requiring the utmost craft to serve the image and the narrative. Cinesamples and Music have allowed me to produce realistic sounding work faster than I was ever able to do with previous libraries. Thanks, Mike!

Thank you both. This was encouraging and I would like to have Musio. Maybe I can wait for sales . Even though I’m learning Opus, but there are no separate instrumentation, but it seems Musio will be great to have in my library. Any information that I can benefit from.

Mike isn't wrong. I picked up a whole bunch of CineSamples libraries and eventually Museo based on your content. You're a great ambassador for them. :)

Musio has opened up my world to the instruments I always wanted to get a hold of but couldn't afford it.

Jurassic Park at the cinema was where it started for me too. 14 yrs old at the time but unfortunately I wasn’t able to follow that passion in the way Mike and many others have. Just a regular life of regular jobs and lockdown in 2020 got me back into music watching people like Guy Michelmore and others composing with VSTs.
So a somewhat later start in life with it all but determined to do well.
    Wish me luck 😊

Mike is, as always, right on the ball.
I still like Kontakt versions but Musio just works. It not like other cloud services, it's a genre of it own.

I just have concerns that musio aka CineSamples might get people excited, then the shoe drops of them saying they are closing shop and pull the rug from under people.
This is why I usually stay away from cloud based things. Not to mention the amounts of subscriptions for things these days, people are certainly getting tired of.
People are going to end up not owning anything anymore and companies can just close shops and people are left out in the cold without any products they've invested in.
THIS is why I do my best to stay away from subscription based stuff. Pretty soon, we all are going to need a subscription just to breathe.
Or pay $20 for each time we blink. People like to own their purchases because they work hard to earn their money, and money doesn't grow on tree's.
Basically, I am just waiting for the Catch-22 to appear and the shoe to drop. Sorry to sound miserable, but I've been burnt by other companies a few times already.
