The U.S. Electoral College reflects the nation's foundation as a republic of federated states, not a pure democracy. The president is elected by the states, not the populace. When the Constitution was drafted, a key debate centered on how enslaved people would be counted. Southern states pushed to count them fully, which would increase their congressional representation-and power to sustain slavery. Northern states opposed this, unwilling to legitimize slavery while also recognizing the inhumanity of denying personhood entirely. The controversial 3/5ths Compromise emerged as a middle ground, counting enslaved individuals as 3/5ths of a person. This limited Southern dominance while acknowledging, albeit incompletely, their humanity. The compromise underscores the challenges of a nation grappling with liberty and enslavement.

Lmao "let's get rid of the electoral college"
why?
"Because the person i wanted didn't win"
And Trump won the popular vote as well.
I would support you getting rid of it, but not in order to have a single popular vote. I'd retool it because Electors are a holdover of an era where ballots arrived on horsecart, and the EC was designed to maintain the sovereignty of governments, not their subjects.
If the EC was replaced with a full boroughing of the States, effectively giving each State its own EC vote within the existing one, that would do you lot good. Plus you could get rid of the middlemen and tabulate the ballots more directly.
I love how Mark has the confidence to say it against an actual liberal in the freedom caucus, while stanning a team that was started by slavery that still uses its same words and logic and a party that was well just look up Prescott bush he has a lot in common with a failed painter and was his bff as the reasonable opposition, everything mark claims about the orange fella is what his teams actually are he's the baddie and cant comprehend it lol.
I can't say anything without getting deleted for wrong think but everything he claims the orange fella of doing his teams actually do the orange fella is the only one with clean hands; look up history from Prescott bush (oil rig enclave) and fdr (Cesar's legion) till today then look at the orange fellas history, if mark was truthful he would be all in on the orange fella he's lying about one or both of his ideas.
I would actually be interested in Mark doing a book report with cited sources on his options and ideas; I wonder if they would flip flop and could be backed up, as a history guy I know for a fact not only can they not but any reasonable person would have every opposite option he would and idea after reading history as they can only exist in a vacuum with no context I mean he has the worst possible take that contrast reality, I would cite my sources here but I wrote this comment four times with them this is the first one you will see do the math.
Brain damage - like the one Hamil received in his severe car accident - tends to increase over time.
He voice acted joker for so long he became mad.
Or maybe he was mad all along and thus perfect for the role.
Joker isn't even the only crazy character he played. There's Chuckie. He played majima on the ancient original Yakuza dub too. I'm sure there's much more on his file lmfao
The real Luke skywalker is wit the 2 live crew
Fear, hate and anger in his heart there is, turned him to the dark side it did😢
And now he’s suffering from TDS and general scorn from the internet
The Electoral College has nothing to do with slaves. It makes complete sense if you read the Constitution.
My mom told when I was a kid Mark was not a good person. By the 90s his career was almost over if not For BAS. This is why we don't see him in many movies but he's a VA. Don't know how true it is I just know from what we seen he's not a good person
She’s right
Why did she say it?
@@TheJimicus He consistently wishes death on millions of people for religious and political opinions. He's barked at and terrorized at least 2 young children who were fans of star Wars because of their parent's political views. He went unhinged on an adult Star Wars fan at a convention because he knew she made social-media posts condemning Hollywood for making too much woke content.
He had a brief reputation in the late 90s for being rude and nasty to fans, especially children, but then seemed to clean up his rep for several years. After BAS, he started doing more conventions and was in the public eye again, and he seemed to be making an effort to be more friendly to fans. The current political climate has sent him into a weird spiral of mental-health issues.
How did she know he wasn't good?
Probably because of the story about how he wanted his sons girlfriend to get an abortion and how he treated his sons girlfriend.
His son is also a bad person btw.
His behavior has made Star Wars dead to me and showed my how completely ignorant he is. The electoral college stays.
To be fair, Disney destroyed SW, Mark just danced on it's grave

The founding fathers in some aspects were too advanced/modern for the era they lived in.
He may be the face of Luke Skywalker, but he is full on Joker all the time.
Remember that scene from the Empire Strikes Back, where Luke went inside that tree and struck down a force vision of himself if he sided with the dark side? Who would have thought that scene would become a prediction of his entire career if he went full on woke?
The US general public has chosen their judgement outcome.
I was once sad for what they did to his character in the movies... Now? Good riddance!!
Disney didn't bastardize Luke Skywalker.
They turned him into Mark Hamill.
“If once you start down the blue path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will!”
He stopped playing The Joker, became The Joker himself. Time for Arkham Asylum I guess
Blue Sky is the unofficial asylum.
I'd bet the Joker is more mentally sound than Mark
Mark Hamill ain't my Luke Skywalker. 😂😂😂
'JOE B-WAN KENOBI' LOOOOL Yeah, that guy is so gone! 😂
More like Joepatine.
Joe Joe Binks
Joe Biden is like the original trilogy's senile Yoda (who ate Luke's biscuits without his permission and laughed like a decrepit maniac) but without any of the remaining wisdom to make up for it.
He's gonna wind up going so crazy he starts Joker laughing but he's not acting and he gets carried away in a straight jacket 😂

“The whiny kid”. Check out some “Robot Chicken Star Wars” sketches featuring RC’s hilarious re-interpretation of Boba Fett, who refers to Hamil’s iconic character as such. A prescient example of art imitating life🤣

1:00 Getting rid of the Electoral College would ensure that all the Isengard parts of the country (which typically vote blue) would always win out over the Shire parts of the country (which typically vote red).
8:14 He says THAT right after talking about how he wants to get rid of the Electoral College (which was designed to prevent majority rule taking the form of big city populations getting their way at the expense of rural populations).
Hes rotting away.
Luke went to the Dark Side and went mental. You love to see it.
He became his most successful character, the Joker
@@marcogenovesi8570 Luuke was a novel character, so Hamill sadly never played that incarnation.

The TDS is tedious.
The only thing mark hamill ruin was himself because of his own selfish ego getting the best of him he couldn’t accept reality and just like the privilege rich guy he is bc he thinks he’s still this big time celebrity. Fact is mark ruin his own career.

It's sad to see TDS twist and destroy someone who many once considered a childhood hero.
Funny thing is, James Earl Jones was said to be fairly right leaning, but he kept his politics to himself. The way all celebs should.
The guy playing the baddie is good and the goodie is bad huh.
If an actor (or teacher for that matter) doesn't share their politics you can safely assume they lean right.
@@gideon_drexlarTrue that. Nearly all right leaning people are quite sensible and logical people who prefer to keep their opinions to themselves. Rarely they talk about politics but if they do talk about it, even then they usually do in small groups of likeminded people and are talk much more calmly.
@@Flaming_Hot_Beans Probably because it is the good people who are honest and thus know the nature of evil. While the bad are dishonest and always believe they are in the right.
Apparently Alec Guinness was pretty conservative, and Billy Dee Williams might be as well considering that a few years ago said things indicating a very politically incorrect outlook, such as "what the hell is a gender fluid?" Completely irrelevant. He's an actor and his opinion on politics is of no consequence to anyone.

His daughter knew whats up, even when i get worked up about politics i just take a breath and remember that 95% of this shit doesnt really affect us normies at the end of the day. Life will go on regardless of who won the presidency
Exactly.
I wouldn’t say that (plenty of policies will have some kind of effect), but a lot of the same people who act like the world is ending ignore the local stuff (at least in what they get upset over), which is where you would get the most immediate effects on your own life. It’s also kinda disturbing the number of local positions that run unopposed.
It does affect us. Gas prices inflation. Prison releases etc. Covid response and policy. Immigration and border policies and everything they bring across the border. We still have to live in the slow grind of their irresponsible or corrupt greedy decisions.

Or the asylum so he can rot.
He needs to see a socially conservative psychologist, a woke one would do nothing but blame others for his problems and reinforce his mental illness.
His conflation of the electoral college with the 3/5ths rule (which was promoted by abolitionists) shows he doesn't have a clue about this country's history or the reason for the electoral college.
