What a goddess. Her precision was as mind-blowing then as it is now, and her gorgeous tone is so fresh and clear! Don't blame the poor pianist - if the sound was accurate the instrument is terrible. He actually plays very well.
une vraie rareté effectivement car c'est la 1ère fois qu'elle le chantait en public officiellement !!! déjà on s'en sa volonté de charger chaque note d'une émotion ou d'une 'vérité' autre que juste un exercice vocalisant disant j'ai une belle voix alors je vais vous montrer ce que je peux faire... bien plus intéressant dans cette vision mutine du rôle un peu plus lent avec une densité à mon sens plus intéressants... mais c'est seulement un avis parmi plein d'autres ressentis.. :)

plusieurs grandes voix ont fait le choix le beaucoup chanter et on détruit ce qu'elles possédaient...au regard du miracle qu'est la voix et du travail qu'il faut pour arriver à bien chanter et aussi de la difficulté de trouver un bon professeur, je trouve vraiment domage qu'il reste bien peu de cette très belle qualité de voix aujourd'hui :((((

Glorious sound, Dessay is the Best; but I'm not sure this is what the aria is about. I think it is much more a spoof. like the Doll Song in Hoffmann. It needs a sense of comedy/operetta/circus.
It's from the opera Mignon where it's sung by the actress Philine (who's somewhat of a rival to the main character) playing the role of Titania in front of spectators. It's indeed a spoof, really not much more than "Look at me brag, I'm an actress, aren't I so glamourous and elegant?"

obviously shes fabulous! she stopped trilling though for a good portion of of 6:24 onward... but few could hold a trill that long
